Prompt: Meet-Cute (#pw12)

meet cute: (in a film or television programme) an amusing or charming first encounter between two characters that leads to the development of a romantic relationship between them.

Can't have a "relationships" theme without a prompt about how some of them start! There's an opportunity to make something cute out of a lot of the classic tropes, here, or even turn them on their head. Today should be fun!

Prompt: Demisexual (#pw alt12)

Demisexual: people who only feel sexually attracted to someone when they have an emotional bond with the person. They can be gay, straight, bisexual, or pansexual, and may have any gender identity. The prefix “demi” means half — which can refer to being halfway between sexual and asexual.

Meet Cute

It was the first day of the eight grade and the rest of the class was out at their first recess, but Carly Summers snuck her way into the computer room. The whole room was dark, but the smallest little lights blinked away on the different computers. The door had been unlocked already, which was unexpected since it was locked when the class had left, but Carly wasn’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth, and went in as quietly as she could. She closed the door behind her and started to go to the back corner computer, hoping to download some games onto the desktop for easy fun the whole year. She noticed something though, as she crept along there was the lightest little clicking rapidly coming from where she was headed. She walked down one side of the tables covered with computers, half spread out along the walls and the other half on a long table going down the center of the room. When she got to the end she saw a girl, a little younger than herself, sitting cross-legged on the floor. She had a keyboard sitting on her legs and a desktop screen in front of her on the floor. The screen wasn’t glowing like they normally would though, the reason she hadn’t seen it through the doors window. It was mostly black, but as she continued to type away on the keys strings of code moved up the screen, the green characters not making all that much sense to Carly. It looked just like what hackers do in movies, but when those scenes happen they say out loud what they’re doing. Carly was lost on what this unknown girl was trying to do. So, she asked.

“What will this do?”

“A lot of game sites are blocked on these computers, so I’m making a little change to the whole servers censoring.” She was so entranced that her eyes never left the screen. “Are you in miss K’s class?”

“No, I’m in mister Farmin’s. You’re seventh grade then right?”

“Yeah. Anandaparna Mattu.”

“Carly Summers. Are you going to unblock CoolMathGames?”

“That’s the reason I even thought to try this.”

“Cool, cool.”
