Day 22 - Leap of Faith
Any Progress on your Niobe Kidnaps Lester Au?? :D
This is very fresh and unedited. It is unknown how much of this, if any, will end up in the final product. But here it is anyway. ❤️
Will watched Rachel cautiously. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say he watched Python possessing Rachel's body. As far as he knew, she'd never spent this long in her Oracle state before. He'd have to look at her when all of this was finished to ensure that sulfur smoke wasn't causing any long-term damage to her lungs.
Kayla pushed to the front of the crowd. "Why would you help us?" Even from behind her, Will could hear the scowl in her voice.
"Because we have a common goal." Python smiled like he'd learned to do it from a book, curling Rachel's lips away from her teeth. "You do want to find Lester, don't you?"
"Of course we do. What's that got to do with you?"
Rachel's head tilted to the side, eyes sinister. "I don't like loose ends. I've waited millennia for my revenge. Lester won't escape just because he's chosen cowardice."
"He's not a coward," Will snapped. "Whatever he's doing right now, there's a reason." He believed it whole-heartedly, even with no word from his father.
However, Will quickly regretted his outburst when Rachel's intense gaze turned to him. He resisted the urge to shy away from Python's scrutiny.
"You'll do," Python purred with Rachel's voice before her gaze was turned back to the crowd at large. "Seeing as I'm a god now, I do hereby issue a quest. And I believe this rosy-cheeked boy has just volunteered to lead."
Will's eyes went wide as a chill slipped up his spine.
"Find Lester Papadopoulos," Python continued, "and share with me either his wherabouts, or definitive proof of his death."
Before Will could even protest, Rachel's head lolled back, and a prophecy spilled from her lips with a flood of putrid smoke.
(workshopping a prophecy below the cut. Lines/stanzas aren't in any particular order, some or all of them may not make the final cut)
