There was a time, a time when her best friend was a laptop with an internet connection. A time before metal men could fly, before heroes of the past were reawakened.

There was a time, before she became something more. Before she took her place among the heroes, out on the front lines to save this world from wars that it could never prepare itself for.

There was a time, when the world didn’t quake under a titan’s boots. There was a time, when quicksilver was the name of liquid mercury, nothing more. There was a time, where quake and quicksilver would never have been in the same sentence, let alone the same breath.

But if the world stayed as it was, it could never be what it is.
