6. Do you have any ocs who started out as fan characters, or as adaptations of canon characters who eventually became their own thing? If so, what did their character progression look like?

well it is pretty obvious that ARCH started out as a shadow gijinka lol

i can't really find super old art, this is probably the oldest i have on me rn from 2022 (im too lazy to get my external drive for the 2019 art but its basically just. the same but. worse anatomy, worse outfit and more "normal" hair)

as u can see hes already pretty established from here, at least in his human form. never changed tooo much, i just refined my art style and got consistent with how i part his bangs

2024 i start experimenting w his dragon form and going further with making him his own thing (while ofc keeping all the juicy shadow backstory stuff that i love)

he def does not have any white or grey stuff anymore, also he's feathered now (at least partially)

this is from 2025, more accurate but honestly i STILL am struggling with designing his hybrid form

im sketching lots in my sketchbook to practise but hhngng....

3. What ideas come from when you were little?

I guess ive always liked art that looks like its designed as a print or poster!! As a kid i really liked making fake comic covers and movie posters, and though it's not the exact same nowadays, that influence has never left my art for sure :) That, and just using the brightest colors i can on anything.

while people may associate you with the haha funny color; in my mind you will forever be one of the first artists i followed that took characters i love dearly and gave them body types that i, and people i know have. and especially having the concept of change with them; with it being ok to gain weight. incredibly important. (especially since i gained more weight when i started a med last year + quarantine.)

may i suggest with Kristoph being a very weak firebender to the point everyone thinks he's a nonbender? idk if that works with Kristoph but the idea of having like. a family member being more powerful and like Phoenix and just. Jealousy and Resentment? yeah. Nice villain vibes

Oooo, yes, he’d hate that, we’re doing it! It’s the one thing that, no matter what he does, he just can’t better automatically better at than Klavier and he hates it, and he subtly undermines Klavier’s confidence in his own bending every chance he gets. And then there’s Phoenix who’s just, like... he’s a decent enough bender, strength-wise, he does stuff with ease that takes Kristoph an unacceptable amount of effort, he is Not Okay with that.

In the AA-setting, this is just another thing that fuels his hate and resentment against Phoenix. In the Avatar-setting the creep is 16/17ish, and he despises Phoenix for being a decent-strength bender who wastes his abilities on- on such trivialities as performance art. Getting in on the power grab with the ‘make the Avatar loyal to us group’ sounds nice, but that and the chance to potentially destroy Phoenix? Sign him up.

In contrast, in the Avatar-setting, Klavier takes one look at Phoenix’s bending and goes “That, that is what I want to be, but with music instead of acting, can I do that?!?” Yeah, he becomes good friends with Apollo, it’s ten-year-old Klavier, he’s young and fluffy and friendly, but he initially joins the group because, “YOU! TEACH ME YOUR FIREBENDING WAYS! PLEASE!!! I AM A YOUNG AND UNTALENTED BENDER BUT I WILL BE A VERY GOOD STUDENT, YES!!!”

This also eventually leads Klavier to discovering that he is, actually, a good bender, his only real issue is the crippling self-doubt his brother’s been instilling in him for years.
