How is the Everybody Knows Morena animatic coming along? Been hyped for it for a long time!

oh my god i'm so honored that you remembered!! it's such a rush to have people care about the things you make and this sent me into an absolute frenzy, so thank you!!!

the animatic is still in progress-- it's a pretty long one, covering everything from the end of the chimera ant arc to current day succession war politics. i'd say its about 70% done rn, but i'm a perfectionist at heart and routinely go over my work again and again until they meet the standard. i've been wary of posting anything abt it bc it gives me the jitters..... but in honor of you reaching out, here's a snippet!

(hopefully tumblr doesn't murder the quality) forgive any issues with framerate and timing! i animate in photoshop because i'm an absolute masochist and refuse to learn a new program. when the full thing comes out the little details will be fixed. even so: hope you enjoy!

the succession war arc has the best female cast in the entire manga and i wish i saw people talk about it more. i mean i adore many other women in the series like machi, pakunoda, bisky, etc, but i feel like the women in this arc are so well-written and interesting. i'm on vol 36 and so far my favs have been theta, camila, oito, and camila. why don't people talk about them more? it's also nice that morena is one of the major antagonists because in most manga (including hxh) there's never a major female antagonist. i definitely think she'll be the final villian of this arc (i mean she literally got a cover shortly after being introduced).

Why I think love dial is leading Chrollo to Queen Oito

Hi!! So I thought about this lately and imo it kinda makes sense but it also feels a bit of a reach. I'll let you be the judge though.

Before going into the theory, I'll lay out two things.

First, we don't know what Chrollo's looking for with love dial. Most people assume that he's looking for someone whose ability can help him kill Hisoka but I don't think that's the case because wants to steal the treasures first.

I think what he's using love dial for, is to find someone to can give him intel/access to the treasures or just straight up help him steal it. He does mention that he should go to tier one as there'll be more nen users on that tier which might lead people to believe that he's looking for an ability but that's more so because he expects the person to be a nen user as love dial uses nen to track people (I think).

He can use the ability look for that ability as the phone will help him find a compatible partner but I don't think that's not what he's doing here. It doesn't make sense as to why he's look for the ability to kill Hisoka first before committing the heist because he himself states that currently skill hunter can't do steal that ability, hence why he wants to upgrade it. This is why I think that he's looking for someone who can help him to steal the treasures.

Second, yorknew arc and succession war have a lot of parallels. Kurapika is the main character in both the arcs, he is enlisted with the duty to protect an important person, Neon in YNA and Oito & Woble in SWA. Light Nostrade and Nasubi also parallel each other, they both treat their children as pawns. Then Chrollo got involved when he stole Neon's ability so in my opinion it's only the matter of time until we see him interact with Oito and Woble. Which has led me to believe that Oito is the person Chrollo is looking for. Oito is a nen user so she is traceable through his ability. But why Oito? IMO, narratively it makes the most sense as I stated above, plus Oito is the queen. She is the lowest ranking queen but she still holds a lot of power and I think that she would definitely have intel that Chrollo's secret informant might not even know of. Plus Oito is a smart woman, she's shown us time and time again that she is intelligent and has used her knowledge to get leverage in this war.

Which then begs the question, why would Oito even agree to help him? Chrollo is criminal with a bounty on his head, of course she wouldn't just agree to this. Chrollo had theorised that the sacred treasures power the succession war and Oito wants to end this war, not just for Woble and herself but for the entire family because she does indeed care for them all. So she might help Chrollo in exchange that the heist would end the war.

Now comes Kurapika, he wouldn't just sit back and let this happen. He's guading Oito & Woble and if Chrollo, the guy who killed his entire family comes and yaps about this, he would obviously be mad.

But it's pretty much inevitable at this point that Kurapika and Chrollo will form some sort of alliance, though it would be a reluctant one. Neither party wants to interact with the other but the situation ahead of them requires them both to look past it for a while, Kurapika wants to end the war and Chrollo wants to steal the treasures.

I know that a lot of people are against the idea of their alliance but I have trust in Sensei that he would handle this situation with the severity it deserves. It definitely won't be some besties or hype & aura type thing.

Kurapika would most likely use dowsing chain to see if he's lying or not and I think he'll use jugement chain again. Or maybe Longhi's ability will be seen in action here. Oito will give them the information and then those two would steal the treasures.

Also why I think Oito is Chrollo's 'ideal partner' is because his character has been tied to women. He was frequently around girls when he was a child, he went down this path because of the death of Sarasa, most abilities we've seen him use belong to women, he puts all his trust into Machi, etc, so I think his 'ideal partner' would be a woman too or maybe I'm just reading too much here lol.

So yeah that's what I think... I might be cooking or I might be completely wrong. I think it's the latter lolol.
