Re: why we say 'no, fuck you' to bullies:
So, my partner brought a rainbow flag into the PWHL we were attending. A security guard told her to put it away. (DURING THE PRIDE GAAAAAME AAAAAAAA.)
She said "even if I'm not blocking anyone?"
And then he pivoted to he'd be nice and just don't hold it up.
Fine k whatever. I thought maybe there was a no flag rule in which case he was being permissive, but on checking it nope they're allowed. She went and talked to guest services to get clarification. They said it's fine.
Stood for the intro and she was holding it at shoulder level, and he raced up and told her to put it away. We told him it was not against policy, we checked and she'd be HAPPY to go talk to guest services with him.
He had that look that men get that you can tell they just really hate you and wanna hit but can't.
He said fine, after first period. Mean mugged us the rest of the period.
Shortly after an arena rep came and applogized. They have now switched security in our section.
Anyway, yeah. Keep being brave out there lovelies. Cuz they're not. And more people have your back that not oftentimes.
Also @hsavinien is the coolest person ever.
