You know how queer histories often go unrecorded or are purposefully erased? A trans art collective in my city is trying to fill that gap with imaginative queer histories and futures. They just set up their online archive featuring art and testimonials from local trans artists (including yours truly) and it's pretty neat if I say so myself.

We are a Chicago based group of queer, student filmmakers. Currently, we are in pre production for Pride & Prejudice & Gays- a short period film that features gender swaps of major characters, Regency era glamour, drag, cross dressing, and choreographed dance.

Our vision for this project is ambitious. The ultimate goal is to use this short film as a proof of concept so that a larger studio will produce Pride & Prejudice & Gays as a feature film or a TV show. If there is any chance for us to make this happen, we need to do a good job with the short film, and as many of you know, period films are great... but they do cost money.
Most of us are graduate students who are 100% ready to give what little we have because we believe so much in this idea, but our production desperately NEEDS your support if we are to succeed. Please, if you can donate even $1 it would be a tremendous help for us to reach our goal.
