Writing this here because there's no letterboxd for this movie.
It was very cool but sometimes a bit.. p*rny?? But I honestly liked that Justin got beat up for his homophobic comments and that Maya got expelled. The ending was amazing and I loved how Donovan and Kaden felt free.
"I'm not your coach rn" really got me, I like that the father, even if he looks like the stereotypical homophobic "family-guy" dad, he was actually supporting.
I found this movie on tiktok through an ad and I got so invested so I had to search the whole movie.
Every time they were about to kiss I was SO worried and someone would walk in on them (and someone did, in fact, fully walk in on them)
I really needed a movie where the queer people actually got together after the vyler queerbait, even tho it's a queer movie and not a mainstream show so it doesn't hit as hard but it's still good.
The other football players not being homophobic after Justin was kicked out really showed that homophobic people, especially teens, are homophobic because their friends are.
I have some complains tho:
Why did Kaden after basically breaking up with Donovan just played football with him? If I broke up with someone, I definitely wouldn't paly football all happy with them ig
Why did the coach and principal basically do nothing when Justin was being an ass or when Donovan was beating him? They were LITERALLY there.

putting in a tiermaker my favorite smut scenes from HR
I just realized that Beatrice is one of the first few people Ava has ever hugged since her childhood.
After Diego, Beatrice was the second person Ava hugged since she was paralyzed, since being dead, since being resurrected.
Ava has been bed-ridden and paralyzed for majority of her life. And she didn’t have any feeling in her body as well. I doubt any of the nuns that took care of her gave her a hug. So I think this is a big thing that Ava would reach out to Beatrice for physical comfort in this moment. At that time, Ava had like one conversation with Bea and she trusts her enough to hug her (and even touch her face) .
Ava is quite literally touch-starved. So it makes sense that she would reach out and hug or touch Beatrice when she can. Especially after getting even closer to her.
I think this makes all of Ava’s physical interactions even more special. I also noticed that she’s the one who usually makes the first move in these interactions.
Not only was Ava deprived from hugs, but also kisses. Or generally any physical form of affection. I’d assume that Ava only saw these kinds of things on TV and imagined if she could do it for herself someday.
And she did.
Kissing on the cheek, to kissing on the lips, to kissing on the forehead.
Bea may not be Ava’s first kiss or her first hug but she was the one that really mattered.
You guys don't know it but I picked my preferred name from this book series.
Owl House headcanon thing?
Alador and Odalia aren't homophobic. They know, and have known for a while that Amity was gay. In fact it's why they cut off Amity's relationship with Willow during childhood. They were afraid there highborn daughter would start screwing the peasant trash later in life. So they forbid the girls friendship from continuing. Amity's friends are all rich too, and mostly female. So that if she fell in love or lust with any of them at least she wouldn't disgrace the family.
