I've made the decision to sporadically share some of my favorite queer songs (some made by queer people, some about queer experiences, a lot of them both) this month, and today I've chosen Brat by Delilah Bon.
The last word in every line of the chorus except for "all the pretty girls are just brats like me," as well as the lyrics "I don't think so" in the first verse are screamed into the microphone in a way that makes my brain feel really good. Delilah in general also has a way of narrating in her songs that feels very lyrical and catchy, even if all she's doing is describing an action or series of events.
Chat I'm planning on doing an edit for ships that NOBODY would ever in a million years see as platonic if it was a hetrosexual pairing. I want there to be a good mixture of wlw and mlm so give suggestions
Any suggestions? Obviously byler is already on that list, so any more? (I'm thinking togachako?)
Paris by Taylor Swift aka Maladaptive Daydreaming Part 1 and I Hate It Here aka Maladaptive Daydreaming part 2.
In part 1 she's make believing she's with her love, away from cameras where she can confess her truth and just hang out with them and be somewhere nicer than where she is while avoiding all the mess. In part 2 it's not just a few scenarios, she's built whole worlds away from reality where she can escape for most the year. In I Hate It Here she's not just dissatisfied with her life, she HATES her reality and is trying so hard to cope that the daydreaming has gotten worse. She's dealing with "ugly" emotions but wants to romanticize her life anyway where she can and loves that she still wants to do that, even while feeling all the emotions. Her fantasies give her the strength to power through until she can go back to its safety. I interpret the line "no mid size city hopes and small town fears" as her saying "yeah I wanted to be a singer and I was also scared of getting outed" bc I feel like getting outed is a common fear among small town gays when there's only a few of them and they date each other.
But anyway these songs have gay coded lyrics and I was thinking about how they connect together and it's really interesting.
Songwriting Part 2!!!
I’m writing yet another song!!!
Hey guysss, guess who’s at it againnn. So you’ve all probably have heard the last song I wrote and posted here and also on my acc “To Love You” and I just want to say thank you all so much for all the love and positive things you’ve said about my little songg ❤️ but now this time, I’m in the process of writing a queer love song about neighbors who do little everyday favors for each other and slowly catch feelings (also basing it off my own little dream of being able to do the same with someone one day!)
So stay tuned for ittt 💖💜💙
Hey all, I'm compiling a playlist for a "Guess that tune" night for pride.
I need 60 songs and I've got 31 (including 7 that make a rainbow).
I need some help for the last 29 🥴
Songs should preferably be well known, but it's okay if some are a bit complicated. Preferably one per artist, but if needed I can double em 🤷🏻♂️
The songs don't need to be in English.
Hoping Tumble will show up for this one, then I can share the finished playlist with all y'all!
