Queliot Week 2026: June 15-21
We're so excited to bring back Queliot Week, with the blessing of one of the original mods! (Thank you so much, @believesinponds! ❤️❤️❤️) We'll have seven days celebrating the love of Quentin Coldwater / Eliot Waugh of The Magicians (Lev Grossman, SyFy) with all the fanworks you can create! Queliot Week 2026 will take place from June 15-21. This will be an annual event, during the timeslot brought to us by Queliot Week 2019. Read on to learn about the themes and how this event works!
Here are the themes you've been waiting for!
Day 1: Monday, June 15 ❤️ History AUs ❤️ Queliot "for want of a nail" AU: one thing changes somewhere, but that changes everything ❤️ Alternate Genre/Universe
Day 2: Tuesday, June 16 ❤️ Mosaic era/flavor/AU ❤️ Brakebills era/flavor/AU
Day 3: Wednesday, June 17 ❤️ Book Queliot ❤️ There was only one bed ❤️ Epistolary fic (or any type of messaging in some format makes an appearance somewhere)

Day 7: Sunday June 21 ❤️ Queliot Week 2019 prompts* ❤️ Queliot Week 2020 prompts* ❤️ Free Choice
*See below for prior Queliot Week prompts.
Basic Rules
❤️ Your fanwork must be about the ship Quentin Coldwater/Eliot Waugh from The Magicians (Lev Grossman/SyFy).
❤️ Many themes are available; we also offer “Free Choice.” You may select any of that day's themes; use as many as you want, or only one. Please let us know which you've chosen.
❤️ Any type of fanwork you can imagine; any size or length.
❤️ Additions to existing WIPs welcome; you may also start a new WIP.
❤️ As many or as few pieces as you wish to enter are fine.
❤️ The challenge takes place on AO3 and Tumblr (if you are posting your work on another platform, please share a link to that here on Tumblr).
❤️ Relaxed posting: Try to post on the appropriate day, but if you find you need to post on a different day, that’s fine, too. We want this to be fun, and to encourage as many Queliot works as possible! Please let us know which prompt you used.
❤️ Queliot Week is a separate, recurring event. It’s not covered during our recurring Amnesty Weeks. However, each future Queliot Week will include an invitation to use any prompts from a past Queliot Week!
Here are the prompts from prior Queliot Weeks:
Queliot Week 2019 (June 17-23; alternates could be used on any day) Day 1: Fake Dating/Marriage Day 2: Hedge Witches Day 3: Neighbors/Roommates Day 4: Free Day! Day 5: Polyamory Day 6: Alternate Timeline Day 7: Soulmates Alternate 1: Non-magic College Alternate 2: Queliot Reunion Alternate 3: In Fillory

Here are some places to enjoy the works from prior Queliot Weeks!
Queliot Week 2019
This AO3 collection has 62 works for Queliot Week 2019 by multiple creators, but there are also some things on Tumblr that aren't on AO3.
Many works for the event can be found under the tags #queliot week 2019 and especially #queliotweek (this 2nd tag has more, but also does bring up some works for Queliot Week 2020).
The original Queliot Week 2019 website is beautiful and well worth checking out, but enter at your own risk: when I load it now (link below), virus protection is giving me a "threat secured" script warning; not sure why, but it seems to be fine with virus protection, as mine is blocking the problem script without any issues, and the works are still linking to AO3 and Tumblr. I love the original Queliot Week 2019 Tumblr website.
Queliot Week 2020
The original Tumblr website is gone, but many of the entries can still be found through the tags #queliotweek2020 and #queliotweek (this 2nd tag also brings up posts for Queliot Week 2019).
I couldn't find a single, unified AO3 collection, but some creators made their own personal Queliot Week 2020 series, while a few others used a custom AO3 tag. To the best of my ability, here's a link to all those things on AO3.
And here you'll find Magicians Fanworks Extravaganza's ongoing news about Queliot Week 2026 and beyond.
Also: Here's a list of all our upcoming 2026 fanworks challenges for The Magicians, in case you'd like to get a head start!

Finally, while membership in our Discord server is absolutely not required to create works for any event, feel free to join us to discuss The Magicians, our events, and more in the Magicians Fanworks Extravaganza Discord.
Thanks for joining us!

This drawing fits the theme:
Day 2: ❤️ Brakebills era/flavor/AU
(Brought to you later thanks to relaxed posting!)
I wish I could really capture that imploring look of concern on Eliot's face, like his whole self is tenderly pleading, Please be all right, Q. But I did add some hearts to the sofa, that El is sending Q's way.
This painting is part of Mosaic Haiku, Chapter 14 on AO3, where it can be seen with greater resolution/sharpness:

Day 6: Saturday, June 20❤️ Immortal/Mortal❤️ Magical creatures
Quentin stepped through the door and had to take a moment just to calibrate. Bacchus and his disco club full of writhing bodies had been one thing, an overwhelming thing that made it tempting to run and hide. This was something else entirely. Not that his first instinct was not still to run back the way he came in, just in a different way. Bacchus, in Quentin's estimation, was the ‘jock that never grew out of college’ level god. Whatever happened here was creepy; ‘come into my parlor, said the spider’, but in a feeling good, country club for the ultra elite setting.
There was enough gold around to assume King Midas had been through at some point.
It made him think of walking into the full Alice in Wonderland book in a single space. A Wonderland with upscale class, a lot of draped silk, and mushrooms that looked less like mushrooms and more like… something that was not a mushroom. Fantasy, sexy, high fashion?
Chapter 2 of my Queliot 'bedsharing and wet dreams at the Mosaic' fic now up :)
For Queliot Week, Day 3: 'There was only one bed' @magiciansfanworksextravaganza
Hold Me, Hold Out (A Little While Longer) (6648 words) by violetsarefuckingpurple Chapters: 2/? This becomes awkward when Quentin starts having dreams that he simply cannot get under control. Eliot is trying very hard to be respectful and not ruin their friendship with his dick for a second time, but seriously, there is a limit to his self-restraint.
for the 2026 edition of @magiciansfanworksextravaganza Queliot Week, I podded two delightfully fun works!
In Another Life, I Would Make You Stay, written by @wolfnprey; for the prompt Mosaic AU (Rated T, 20min)
To Feel The Same, written by @nellie-elizabeth; for the prompt Cuddling (Not Rated, 12min)

Quentin Coldwater rode to Rouen seeking honor, glory and the favor of Lady Alice, only to find his heart challenged by the mysterious black knight he encountered in the most unexpected way.
Note: This story was written for the Queliot Week 2026 and it’s a History AU most of all, but it was also inspired by and touches other very tempting Queliot Week topics such as There Was Only One Bed and Forced Proximity.

Queliot Week 2026: Help us select themes
We're so excited to bring back Queliot Week, with the blessing of one of the original mods! Queliot Week 2026 will take place from June 15-21. This will be an annual event, during the timeslot brought to us by Queliot Week 2019. We'd like your help selecting themes! We'll be accepting proposals through Feb. 7 (Eastern time). Our theme list will be announced on Valentine's Day.
Please do not put your theme in a reply to this post. While membership in our Discord server is absolutely not required to create works for any event, submission of potential themes is taking place via the Magicians Fanworks Extravaganza Discord as a means of showing creator interest. (If you are Discord-averse, but you hope to make something and have a theme in mind, please feel free to hop in just long enough to do that, or DM us to submit your topics.) Our hope is to have multiple themes available per day. We're still working out all the details, but we will also honor previous Queliot Weeks by opening up those themes again. As usual for our events, new additions to existing WIPs are welcome; entries can be the start of a new WIP; any type of fanworks of any size are great; as many or as few pieces as you wish to enter are fine; and the challenge takes place on AO3 and Tumblr (if you are posting your work on another platform, please share a link to that here on Tumblr).
