Sometimes, a bulletin board is more than just a bulletin board. It’s a labour of love
Having an invisible disability be like:
Nail tech: “Relax your toes.”
Me: “Uh, I have arthritis. I’m sorry. I can’t always control them. 😬”
Please don’t tell me...
That I didn’t have a real job.
Please don’t say...
“When you get a real job” to me.
Because I worked my ass off as an RA at my university.
And I loved every damn minute of it.
And leaving that position is turning into the worst thing ever.
And I don’t appreciate my efforts being belittled just because I didn’t have a full-time job.
Don’t say that shit to me.
Because it makes me feel like shit, and it makes me really hate you.
Because you don’t get to decide what’s a “real job” and what’s not.
So just don’t say it.
Andy, where’s the guideline...
