To answer the question: yes exactly like a rage attack! Thank you, you’re amazing!!
Here you go lovely! I hope you enjoy it, I’ve never experienced a Rage/Anger attack, but I have had friends who’ve had them and have learned about them in my classes, so, I hope I did it justice.
Thranduil kept a cool face as he walked through the halls, his pace swift get graceful. Holding his hands behind his back, he followed the endless corridors with ease, following the sounds of crashing and yelling. The frantic staff passed him with no mind, their minds worried about their safety, not about addressing their king.
On the outside, he looked calm, but on the inside, his heart was pounding as he grew closer to the commotion.
Your heart felt as if it was beating out of your chest, your lungs constricting painfully as you rapidly inhaled and exhaled. Your mind spinning, your hands shaking. Grabbing a pillow this time, you launched it across the room, watching as it knocked a portrait off the wall. Your bedding chambers were now a disaster, broken glass and wood everywhere.
You don’t even recall what angered you so, but you felt so enraged that you needed to do something.
“(Name)...” Thranduil addressed you softly, carefully taking off his robe and crown, not wanting to give you anything more to destroy or throw. Your gaze snapped to his, almost stopping him in his tracks. Your eyes were wild, like a wild animal who was cornered. “Thranduil…” You addressed back, your voice on edge as you watched him move away from the doorway and closer to you.
“Thranduil you need to leave,” You knew your moment of self-control wasn’t going to last long, that you were so close to assaulting him.
“I’m not going anywhere, I need you to breathe,” Thranduil kept his tone soft as if he was talking to a wounded animal.
“Breathing won’t do anything,” Your tone had a bite to it as you began clenching your fists around nothing.
“Yes it will,” Thranduil reminded you, now standing in front of you, locking his arms around you. Your body jerked, spasming to get away from him, your fists moving to strike him. His hands moved to cup your cheeks, “Breathe with me. Focus only on me.” Thranduil demanded, not even flinching when your fists attacked his arms.
Whether you meant to or not, you felt yourself following his orders, your breathing slowing from it’s erratic state to a slow in and out. You felt as if a switch was flipped inside of you, your heart calming down as he pressed his forehead against yours.
“I could bite you so easily right now,” You mumbled, watching him smile and pull you closer as if to drown you in him. “I know you can,” Was his only response, trusting that you were calm enough that you wouldn’t despite being very capable if you were so inclined.
“I’m sorry,” You spoke after a few moments, your body calm enough that you felt safe to hold onto him. Thranduil shushed you, his eyes slipping shut as he pressed his lips to the crown of your head. His own fear left as you calmed.
Your anger attacks terrified him, but he knew you needed him and that you’d always come back from it.
Note: If someone is having an anger/rage attack, please do not engage physically with them. They are not thinking clearly and are only thinking about destroying or attacking something or someone, despite how much they love the people around them, they could very easily draw blood (a reference to the “I could bite you so easily right now” ) Please stay safe.
