So if you have a railcard in the uk you can register it to your oyster card and get discounted tube travel. But to get a discount on my oyster card, I have to register it online, and to register it online, I have to have travelled with my oyster card, and it then takes at least a week to go through on the system, and you have to register your discount in person at a station. So I have to go to London, pay full price for travel for one journey, then come home, register the card, provide proof of the journey I used it on, wait a week, go and find a tube station with actual people working there and register my discounted railcard with them and you wanna know what railcard I'm using? a disabled card. So me a person who qualifies for a discount for travel based on a fatigue condition is going to have to spend at least 2 weeks sorting this out. Why, why, tfl? Please for the love of God make it easier. Why are there so many steps to complete such a freaking simple task?

Railcard
Day Dream
1/31/26.
Railcard (London, England) has been putting out music for the past half-year without any physical releases - aside from patches, and railcards. But, Mike Schulman must have somehow contacted the band (or vice versa) because Slumberland is putting out a CD of their collected EPs tout suite.
Railcard is made up of Rachel Love, Ian Button, Peter Momtchiloff and Allison Thomson. Love and Button write most of the songs except for the excellent "Born in 62" which is written by Momtchiloff, and "Think About That" which is a Dandy Livingstone cover (Rachel Love co-wrote "Cherry Plum" with Hester Smith). That's an unnecessarily long-winded way of saying that we've found our next Lennon/McCartney songwriting duo.
Rachel Love (Rachel Bor) goes back to Dolly Mixture (with Hester Smith). Ian Button has been in Swansea Sound, Papernut Cambridge, and Thrashing Doves (among many others). Peter Momtchiloff has been in numerous bands as well - Would-Be-Goods and Marine Research are the ones that stick out to me. The band definitely sounds like many of the above named bands.
How to entertain a teen who is obsessed with trains
My son’s love for trains has been something he’s enjoyed and that we have nurtured since he was a toddler. He loved Chuggington, he loved Thomas the Tank Engine, he loved going to the local garden centre and having a ride on their little steam trains, he loved visiting heritage railways. He loved it all. These days, he’s 13, with access to the internet and all the YouTube videos and train…
