He’sbleeding again, the big brave idiot. Stefan Salvatore, king of theself sacrificing lambs, always willing to put himself in harms waybecause he doesn’t seem to care much about his well being. The onewho never takes into account, just how others may react to hisimpending doom.

Strangething is, he manages a small smile when he sees her, tries in vain tolift a hand toward her and kind of sputter coughs down into hischest.

“Howbad does it hurt?” she asks, assessing the damage.

Hecoughs again before answers.

“Prettybad,” he admits. “Not gonna lie…”

Shesighs before kneeling down next to him.

“Iprobably shouldn’t move you.”

Heshakes his head in agreement.

“Idon’t have any blood bags or bunnies on me either.”

Hislaugh turns into another fit of coughs.

“It’sokay.”

Shealmost wants to slap him.

“Noit isn’t,” she insists. “Nothing about this is okay.”

“Caroline…”

Herhand goes to the wound in his stomach, the broken broomstick stilllodged into the flesh. His whole body tenses when she touches it,which causes her hand to pull back quickly.

“Sorry!”she exclaims. “I just, sorry!”

Thatsame hand moves to his cheek.

“Youcan’t keep doing this. The greater good, or whatever. What good is itat all if you’re the one who always has to pay? You can’t keepletting me think I’m going to lose-”

Thehand he tried to move earlier manages to lift and cup her cheek inreturn, effectively cutting off the sentence.

“I’msorry,” he assures. “I didn’t… Didn’t mean for it to go downthis way. I just wanted to talk. Really.”

Somuch blood.

“Yeah?”she murmurs. “How’d that work out for you?”

Helaughs again, but manages not to cough afterward.

“Justgive me a few more minutes,” he requests. “Then I can move.”

Shesighs again.

“Sure,”she concedes, leaning down to place a chaste kiss on his forehead.Probably the only spot on his entire body where it doesn’t hurt.

For a prompt: Clary in the snow with Izzy, maybe teaching her Christmas? (not sure if shadowhunters celebrate!)

i don’t know if they celebrate either but let’s just pretend they do but the lightwoods normally don’t for the sake of these headcanons (i focused more on the christmas than the snow, i hope you don’t mind!)

-Clary wakes up Izzy excitedly one morning with a blindfold in her hand and a grin on her face-Izzy is confused but allows Clary to drag her through the city, not knowing where they were going-Clary ends up taking her to Central Park where the horse drawn carriages are because her mom and she made sure they went every year when it was snowing-Alec mentioned that the Lightwoods don’t have Christmas traditions so Clary takes advantage of this since Izzy’s her family now-Izzy gets super emotional because her family’s Christmas is just giving each other a single present and moving on with their day-Izzy hugs Clary tight and keeps whispering thank you before they even get in because she doesn’t even know how to handle the emotions she’s feeling-Clary just laughs and drags her into the carriage, pulling some blankets out of her backpack-Izzy watches the snowfall around the horses in awe, having never been so close to the creatures because as a girl her mother never let her get near-Izzy leans her head on Clary’s shoulder at some point during the ride and Clary blushes really red but it’s not obvious because she’s already red from the cold -after, Clary brings her back to Magnus’ apartment where he was throwing a small little holiday party (it was a mix of Christmas and Hanukah for Simon)-Izzy is so excited by the whole thing and falls in love with the Christmas music and the way Magnus decorated his tree so extravagantly-they all exchange presents and Izzy had never gotten so many before from so many people and always starts crying again because she felt so loved-not that she didn’t love her family, especially her brothers, but there was something about being surrounded by so many friends in such a happy environment that made her feel warm-by the end of the night, everybody is just a little tipsy on mulled wine to make them feel happy, nothing too bad at all-before everyone leaves, Magnus decides to be a little mischievous and enchants a mistletoe above the girls and Clary blushes so hard-she has to explain what a mistletoe means to Izzy and Izzy blushes too but just grabs Clary’s face and kisses her-clary is shook-it’s a quick kiss and they part but they have such big smiles on their faces and lean in to kiss again and Alec and Magnus high five at a match making job well done
