Hello! I just read though your stone rebirth fanfic on ao3 and I think it’s really good so far, I also love me some monkey!mk

Thank you, I'm really glad you are enjoying it so far. I also love stories with monkey!mk as well, and I wanted to write one that involves MK's ever growing found family helping MK and supporting him through the changes he's going through.

My basic premise for my Stone Rebirth AU started as this.

When MK goes to retrieve the Monkey King’s staff from the Demon Bull King, he also receives all of the Monkey King’s powers as well. The powers are too much for a human to handle all at once, after all the Monkey King was a demon. The power of the Monkey King that latched to MK mixed with the exposure to the raw energy from DBK’s armor disintegrated MK’s human body, but not his spirit. That moment where MK emerges from the stone egg, he was reborn as a stone monkey, but no one, not even MK, are aware of this at first. It takes a certain six eared Macaque tricking MK to bring the truth out and there is no turning back.

Though this changed a bit as I began fleshing the story out. I think it actually works better with MK knowing that he isn't exactly human anymore.
