*glee fandom flails*
I’m still in a travel coma, but I have to say something about the remarkable people that came out to Central Park for the Post-Glee Meet-up this past Sunday.
There’s so much that I could gush about, from the Cards Against Humanity and Glee Trivia to the fact that you are ALL too damn pretty in person, but I think my favorite had to be the meeting moments. There was something remarkable about watching so many fandom folks do the dance of--
[surreptitiously checks name tag] “OHHH. I know who you are! HI!”
“Hi! But wait, you know who I am?”
“Of course I do!”
“No way. You’re . . . YOU. I know who you are!”
“Duuuude.”
It was a beautifully confusing love-fest.
I also appreciated the tacit understanding that not everyone experiences a social situation in the same way. Some people mingled, some found a group for a game, and others quietly took in the chatter, but (as on tumblr) there was room for everyone to create their own meet-up experience.
Finally, I’d love to flail about all of my new, fantastic friends and old-friends that finally have faces (carojane, sharicat, chocolateforyou, flickerthenflare, constantcompanion & andercas to name just a few), but this post could get unwieldy. Instead, I’ll invite anyone who attended (or who followed the antics from abroad) to reblog or comment with a moment or an interaction that meant something to them. After all-
