We had so much fun at yesterdays short training ❤️.
4th place in rally with 91/100. Unfortunately a bunch of kids were running back and forth just as we were about to enter the ring which is a bummer. Made him go flat and crooked on a range of positions. So lots of little points lost to those kinds of errors.
He did recover the longer the ring went on and regained his wag on the home stretch. A good sign that the ring has become a happy place for him.
I do wish we had managed to keep the play momentum from outside the ring into the ring but well bummer situations happen sometimes. I’m glad I waited for him to refocus unprompted both times he got super worried before continuing. Glad rally allows giving your dog that kind of grace.
I've been leaving for agility/rally classes early so we can take 15-20 minutes to sniff around this walking trail that's on the way. It's like a pre-decompression walk and I've noticed it makes a positive difference for Faye.
The reason I haven't talked much about our agility and rally classes is because it's lost a lot of the fun. One of the neighbors shoots their gun during and the sound freaks Faye out. We've been working through it and building up her confidence around it. But she's clearly not enjoying the classes the way she used to.
I did learn that it won't stop her from doing her job though. Something triggered me during agility and Faye alerted without hesitation and gave me pressure therapy to calm me down. She was on it so fast I don't think anyone else even noticed.
Anyway, giving her time to run and sniff freely before class seems to help. Yesterday I even saw some of Faye's enthusiasm start to return.
I see a lot of dogblr pet/service dogs, but not many sports dog dogblrs. Anyone do sports with with pups? Agility, dock diving, frisbee, nosework, barnhunt, fastcat, and rally-o are my tops!
Started Luna in agility class, we’ll see how well this goes 😉 and she’s got dock diving competition end of the month, woot!
Look what we've been working on thanks to great help from our agility trainer! Rally Obedience! Getting ready for our first Rally-O trial!
We did our first trial! We got DQ because I didn't know she couldn't have tags on her collar 😂. I have a whole video of our trial where I messed up multiple times. People were really nice and I think they like the fact that I immediately bombarded her with hugs and kisses when we finished, even though I did pretty shitty.
oops
Lucs and Sammys second class 3 parcour in RallyO (highest class in germany).
They did SO WELL.
Even it rained and I walked near them Sammy focused well on Luc - they worked so amazing together.
It was Lucs second class 3 parcour and he did so good with the signs.
We corrected a couple of mistakes at the end but just: wow.
I am so proud of them ❤️.
