JuneToon 2026 Day 12: Ranger
Yogi Bear Cast Headcanons
Yogi Bear:
-As the first breakout star of the Hanna-Barbera lineup, Yogi carries that pride with him in his attitude and demeanor. Not to the point where it's annoying and being a braggart...but enough to where it's noticeable.
-Yogi Bear has the strength and power of a real bear. He is the third strongest of the Hanna Barbera Toons and absolutely COULD be the strongest if he wanted to...but there are two reasons why he isn't. One, he's lazy and doesn't really care about measuring or keeping up with his strength and two, he's a little scared that he'll hurt someone if he puts his strength to full use.
-Yogi isn't just good at stealing picnic baskets, he's also good at making them! He somehow knows the exact spot to have a picnic, the exact amount of food to put in a basket (and how much food is in a picnic basket itself) and many more.
-Yogi has a fondness for postcards. He LOVES sending postcards, no matter how close or how far he is. Whenever signing things for fans, he prefers to use postcards rather than paper.
-Yogi's favorite animal is frogs. Why? He thinks they're funny creatures. He often visits the local pond in Jellystone just to observe the frogs there.
Boo-Boo Bear:
-No one knows what Boo-Boo's true age is. No one can tell if he's a kid, an adult, or something in between. What doesn't help is that Boo-Boo deliberately keeps it up in the air.
-Boo-Boo has a love for superhero comics. His absolute favorite superhero is Hulk and yes, he has ABSOLUTELY fanboyed the rare times he's in the Hulk's presence.
-Boo-Boo Bear's favorite food are avocados. He especially LOVES guacamole and will insist on having it with the rare meals he takes, no matter how absurd it is.
-Boo-Boo has an interest in pharmacy. He's currently apprenticing under Hello Nurse (from the show Animaniacs) to better his skills.
-Boo-Boo has a love for nerdcore songs. He generally finds the music more appealing to listen to than regular songs.
Cindy Bear:
-Cindy Bear has a love for boba tea. Her favorite type of boba is coconut milk tea.
-Cindy Bear in general has a love for coconut flavored things. She even has a fondness for coconut water!
-Cindy Bear being a doctor and inventor at the hospital in Jellystone! was because she was SO sick of playing just "the Love Interest" to Yogi in the original show. She wanted to have a character of her own and thus, practically improvised everything about her new character for Jellystone!
-Cindy's personality is a mixture of her Jellystone! self and her original self. She's very sweet and polite for the most part but stubborn, headstrong, and determined when she feels like things aren't going the way she wants it to. Also, she DEFINITELY has an ego like Jellystone shows but hides it better off the screen. And she's rather...cheeky when she knows she's right.
-Cindy Bear and Lila (Snagglepuss' love interest) are dating behind the screens. She and Yogi may still pretend to be a thing for the corporates ...but off the screen, it's these two that have where its at.
Ranger Smith:
-Ranger Smith has a whole COLLECTION of stress balls. All of them are organized in different colors for whenever he's feeling a different emotion.
-Ranger Smith is a fan of Jackson Pollock's art. Ranger Smith is a big fan of abstract art in general, having several abstract paintings decorate his home.
-The rare times he DOES eat, Ranger Smith is a notoriously messy eater, the messiest of the Hanna Barbera crew. His favorite food happens to be BBQ ribs.
-Ranger Smith REALLY likes Huckleberry Hound. Whenever Huck gives out advice to the Hanna Barbera Toons, Ranger Smith is usually the first one in line.
-Ranger Smith and Officer Dibble (from Top Cat) are best friends. Both primarily bond over the fact they're practically babysitters in their shows for the main animal stars.

Meanwhile, back in Jellystone Park--
[Mise en scene: Yogi Bear, "smarter-than-the-average"--or so he thinks--chugs down a bottle of sarsparilla procured by Means Most Dubious when--] BOO-BOO, Yogi's li'l buddy: Quick, Yogi!! The ranger is coming, and boy, IS HE ANGRY!!! [At any rate, Ranger Smith comes along and--] RANGER SMITH, irate as would be expected under these circumstances: YOGI-!!! WHERE EXACTLY DID YOU GET THAT BOTTLE OF SARSPARILLA?!! DON'T YOU KNOW BEARS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO ACCEPT FOOD GIFTS OF ANY KIND FROM PARK VISITORS, AND ESPECIALLY YOU, YOGI!!! YOGI BEAR, trying to be evasive in this battle of wits with Ranger Smith: Even gorillas like Magilla like their sarsparilla!! RANGER SMITH, as an aside: Seems I do recall a certain TV commercial Magilla Gorilla did for one Niedermeyr's Sarsparilla--or did I?!
Ranger Smith: Yogi, do you want to tell me who it was that stole all the food from the refrigerator in the ranger's cabin?
Yogi: Bigfoot!
Ranger Smith: What have I told you about blaming things on imaginary creatures?
Yogi: To make sure I always have photographic evidence.
Ranger Smith: Photographic evidence. And do you?
Yogi: (holds up a drawing of Bigfoot taking all the food out of the refrigerator and sneaking away with it behind Ranger Smith)
Ranger Smith: Okay, first of all, you drew that. Second of all, I should have a stronger chin.
