How do you think it would’ve gone down if Rapunzel was there with Cass for the Gothel reveal instead of Zhan Tiri?
I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be deliberately obtuse or anything, but I'm having a little trouble wrapping my head around this question.
What would Rapunzel be doing there if Zhan Tiri wasn't? Zhan Tiri is the one who put Cassandra there in the first place. Also, Rapunzel's energy was being drained by Trommus at that time, and though it's not explicitly stated, I firmly believe that without her essentially acting as a battery, ZT wouldn't have had the power/energy to come through enough to force Cassandra to see her past with adult eyes.
Okay, now y'all are just making fun of me supernaturally. 😆😂

For half the episode my jaw was on the floor and I mean that in a fun way.
I knew going in that Cass was Gothel’s daughter, but oh my god do I hate it so much. Especially with just finding out Eugene is a prince. Why does everyone with missing parents have to be someone’s kid? What’s next, is Lance really the Queen’s long lost brother?
My views on “Rapunzel Returns” have definitely changed since it’s airing, but one thing I’ll always consider to be superior to the other tentpole episodes is the ending.
No, not the song. The final scene where it’s just Rapunzel and Eugene sitting on the windowsill (which is their favorite spot I guess) during a gorgeous sunset just talking. It’s Rapunzel finally opening up to Eugene about her feelings and Eugene respectfully listening to her because that’s what both of them need at that moment. Nothing big or grand. No glorious ballad as the wind blows through Rapunzel’s hair. No grand reprise as the group goes off to see the world in their caravan.
It’s just a short, simple, yet beautiful scene of the two of them finally communicating.
I’m Crossing The Line!
Good evening!
Tonight I do proudly present you my favourite art piece I did in this year’s january! You may already know how inspiring Cass is to me, that’s why I had to give her new free, confident and powerful self and her song “Crossing the line” much space. I used drawing ink and different colored fineliners.
Have a nice evening!
Tangled the Series thoughts, on Ep 3 (or is it 4..?)
A couple comments about the most recent episode of Tangled the Series (”Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf”), just because I’ve realized I’ve been following the show forever yet never actually said anything about it (despite it being one of the best animated shows currently running imo). First, I like how so far most of the stories - even the individual ones - tie back into the narrative about Cassandra. And I don’t just mean the short clips at the end of the episodes: there’s a lot of foiling of the characters and the themes they encounter to what Cassandra went through and how she herself responded instead. Varian’s redemption in Rapunzel’s Return and especially Red/Catalina and Angry/Kiera’s situation in Big Bad Wolf are the most obvious, with Red and Varian explicitly learning to overcome the issues and resentments that Cassandra couldn’t, and Rapunzel using Cassandra's cautionary example to learn how to fix things to be better in the present, but King Edmund and Eugene’s episode also works as a story about two people who want to have a relationship but have to understand who the other is and what makes them similar (and different) to move forward - the kind of thing that fell apart for Rapunzel and Cass.
It’s a really good, very smart touch, is what I’m saying. It definitely makes me excited to see how the next episodes are going to tie into it. Less poignant, more random thoughts: Werewolf Red is enormous af. Like, one of the largest living things we’ve ever gotten in the series. Meanwhile, Red herself is the definition of smol. Conservation of Mass can go take a hike. They had a lot to put into this episode, and it both shows and works out very well. The only thing that bugged me was Angry, mostly that in an episode that’s triggered largely by her actions she only really just gets to react to things. I was hoping for some kind of follow up to her nightmare, beyond the commiseration scene that was going to happen regardless. Some confrontation with the werewolf before she learned the werewolf was Red. I thought maybe they were leading up to her teaming up with the monster hunter briefly before realizing she was wrong. This didn’t bug me at all, but it’s still funny how they set this thing in Old Corona (probably for the “monster attacks provincial village” angle), had it be a giant animal monster (like monster Ruddiger), and had the culprit be someone with pent up anger, and didn’t mention Varian at all. I figured someone was going to suspect him before everyone realized the werewolf was Red instead (since, let’s face it, that was obvious even before the “pent up feelings” exposition - “What big eyes you have?”) Speaking of, the way they interpreted the werewolf concept in the series reminded me of how Ducktales interpreted the wendigo last year. Instead of bloodlust and all that jazz, it’s people cursed thanks to being overcome with negative thoughts. Just something fun I noticed. All in all, I have consistently wanted Red and Angry to appear more for several seasons, and I’m going to continue to. Before, I wanted an episode where they met Varian (because before his redemption, I felt they would have made good opposites to him), but now we’ve got to have one where they meet Cass.
In any case, keep up the good work, Tangled!
Fast Travel ftw!
