thinking abt rat again.......
I have a question. I don’t know how much this would contradict with lore, but I’m going to ask it anyway.
What if was revealed that The Rat was the first king of Bastion and originator of both the Burrowers, the Hoppers of the Khonda Desert, and basically all rodent folk of the Spiral, but the Burrowers betrayed Rat and because of that, they were treated favorably by Grandmother Raven and rewarded to be the forces of Light fighting against the Spider’s Arachna forces? Or something like that idk.
And that somehow lead to the Mantises and Bees siding with the Umbra Legion as we see in Khrysalis’s Storyline, so on and so forth?
Either way, I always had this headcanon that the Rat had plans to betray his father later and take over as the ultimate supreme leader of the new first world or whatever the fuck Spider wants to turn the Spiral into. He had created the Burrowers and the Hoppers and whatnot to be his loyal servants and soldiers, apart from the Cabal and the Arachna Spiders, but that ended up failing for whatever reason. Whether that be influence from someone else (like the Bat), or the Burrowers (just gonna mention them for now on) just had enough of Rat’s shit, idk.
I just thought it would be interesting to think about. I assume the Rat is that old/old enough to have found an entire race of people?
Imagine: Rat vs. Bat (maybe even scorpion but I dont really like him nor can I understand him half the time) having sibling rivalry over the wizard bc they all do be crushing on that cosmic ass. Lol just imagine all of them bickering but wiz turns to look at them and they do that ACT NORMAL! and are avoiding eye contact and whistling, probably holding a ready-to-draw card behind their back.
MIDDLE CHILDREN DO AS MIDDLE CHILDREN DOES.... which is to say nothing at all and minding their business LMFAO . me too scorpion
Hate to be the person to ask this but could you maybe do some Rat/Wizard headcanons? You don't have to ofc, I just think they're neat
ANON!!!! this is a place free of judgement... for a variety of character enjoyers..... i will do my best ‼ but ive never written about him so this will be a bit difficult
more under the cut ^_^
Wait I just had a thought wtf would Rat's legs look like? I was thinking with his super long and loose dress/robe I wanted to draw him doing the iconic Marylin Monroe air vent thing, but then I'd have to draw his furry legs? What would they even??? I don't think I've seen exposed rat legs in P101 either maybe with the exception of just a little fur? And they're so skinny n small compared to him?
HES DEFINITELY THE TYPE TO SKIP LEG DAY LETS BE REAL.... and arm day . i imagine him as pretty tall and lanky compared to his brick house brothers
rat definitely has some chicken legs goin on
More Wizzy HCs
Dyvim enjoys a good laugh. Be warned, though; he may tell some very “cheesy” jokes. But you can’t help but laugh, since he’s so charming and has impeccable wit. Any jokes you tell him, he’ll probably enjoy. As long as they aren’t super mean spirited or are vile. Not that he doesn’t enjoy a little bit of dark humor (he does make jokes about his “death” here and there), but there has to be a point, not just senseless edge. Would fall for Updog once, then he swears to make someone else fall for Updog. He succeeds; Zaltanna falls for it. She breaks his arm and forces him to wear a cast for two months.
Merle Ambrose is a confused Boomer who doesn’t understand young people’s humor. Any jokes he does tell are very “How do you do, fellow kids?” He ABSOLUTELY would fall for Updog, every single time.
You would think Cyrus Drake has no sense of humor, but you’d be surprised. His Sense of Humor is hidden, concealed. It’s very subtle, easy to miss. As a Teacher, his most common type of joke is responding to every “Can I use the Bathroom?” with “I don’t know, can you?” Would not fall for Updog.
Pork’s jokes are just pickup lines. He sometimes would fall for Updog, sometimes wouldn’t. Depends on the circumstances.
The Bat is a jokester who tells bad jokes. Unlike Dyvim, however, his jokes don’t always land. It’s okay, he tries his best. Would fall for Updog because the Bat is honestly a bit of a niave cinnamon roll.
The Rat is reserved, but can laugh. Even if his sense of humor is a bit cruel and sadistic. Would not fall for Updog.
The Scorpion has no sense of humor whatsoever. HOWEVER, making him angry is hilarious. Hilarious to the Rat and Old Cob, anyway. Would fall for Updog.
Mellori jokes around, but she groans at awful puns, especially when her mom tells them. Unless she makes them. She has a very witty and sarcastic edge to her humor. That being said, I imagine that if she and Spider’s other children were to reconcile, she would enjoy picking on Scorpion with Bat and Rat. Would not fall for Updog.
Old Cob...is Old Cob. As the very embodiment of chaos, he finds pretty much everything funny. Especially Xibalba; that never gets old! Tells Updog to make people angry.
