Previous part First part
Regulus watched Snape across the corridor. He knew that slippery snake had something to do with his mother finding him in Hogsmeade. He needed to know what he’d told her. If she’d told her about his meeting with Crouch Sr.
They still hadn’t heard anything from the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. It had been weeks now, and Regulus was aggravated. At this rate, he would be seventeen and none of it would matter.
Snape walked past the Gryffindor table, sneering at Regulus and the others around him; even Lily didn’t escape his cold expression. He needed to get Snape to talk, but how?
Truth potion wouldn’t work on him. Regulus had seen Snape sip Veritaserum for years; most of the Slytherins did it. He rattled his brain for the next best thing.
Sirius’s voice broke into his thoughts, and a few words stuck around. “What we need is a bit of luck, and the plan will go off without a hitch!” Luck. Luck! The corner of Regulus’s mouth curled into a wicked grin. All he needed was a bit of liquid luck.
