ᥫ᭡ You had never really thought about what Satoru might actually think of you.
You were indeed husband and wife, but that didn't really matter. You hadn't chosen it, after all. You never chose anything.
Satoru was considered the greatest sorcerer, The Strongest. Someone whom nothing and no one could touch.
You always had that same phrase in mind when people told you about him: "When you become untouchable, you are unable to touch." And that was true for you too. You were surely the only person capable of pressing your skin against that man's, but you never did.
The elders, those people who rule everything with an iron fist, had many reasons to choose you as the wife for the great Satoru Gojo.
You come from a powerful clan. Of the same rank as the Zenin, the Gojo, or the Kamo.
Your high concentration of occult energy isn't the only thing that could be described as interesting, no. It's your ability to bring about rebirth that is. At your fingertips, life seems to take on a new breath, a new cycle.
And who else could have been better than you to have an heir with Gojo? No one, obviously. The wielder of infinity and the sixth eye could only end up with someone who would be useful to his bloodline.
And even if you didn't know each other, even if you didn't want to, it didn't matter. The wedding had taken place.
Your grandmother used to talk to you endlessly before she died about the importance of marriage in a woman's life. You always believed her because you noticed how much she seemed to emphasize the subject. But your childlike naiveté eventually faded, giving way to harsh reality.
The color white overwhelmed your vision with its brilliance, surrounding your body and the room.
Beside you, of course, was Gojo. His large blue eyes shone with exceptional beauty, but seemed devoid of joy. Why would they? Neither of you wanted any of this. It's even possible he already had a lover he had to leave for you.
The ceremony unfolded at breakneck speed, perhaps because you weren't truly present. Your mind was elsewhere, but one question still lingered within you: What does Gojo think of all this?
You spoke to him several times before the ceremony, and he always had that fake expression. He wore a calm, passive face, always respectful but never happy. And it made you more uncomfortable than anything else.
You'd tried to lighten the mood with him all those times, but Gojo didn't seem interested in developing any kind of relationship, so you stopped.
Even though you wanted to at least get along with him, you weren't going to force him. Not even if it meant having to live with a stranger under the same roof.
The wedding night finally arrived, and you were filled with questions. Of course, this was the night you would consummate the marriage. But so soon? You didn't know if you wanted it, but you had no choice. Sooner or later, your two clans would force you to produce an heir. And who knew what would happen to you if you decided to refuse.
So when the moment arrives, you take a deep breath and wait. You feel the softness of the bedding beneath you, and soon you will feel his hands.
But that moment never came.
You woke up in the same place, and beside you, nothing. Only the coldness of the sheets, revealing Gojo's absence.
A small feeling of gratitude stirred within you. And although you didn't know the reasons why he hadn't shown up, you at least managed to postpone the moment.
When you saw him, you took the opportunity to ask him why he had been absent, and he simply replied that he had a mission.
This exchange, strange as it was, cheered your heart. Perhaps you'll manage to live separately without being forced into a relationship.
If you remained calm and ignored him, Gojo would surely do the same.
The months passed without incident, and your relationship with Satoru had taken a strange turn.
He was no longer content to ignore you. You often talked and even spent time together.
Whether it was taking short walks to the nearby market (and having a crowd of passersby watching you), or simply sitting in the tea room and enjoying the silence.
The sound of his name on your lips was a familiar sensation now, and it was the same for him. And the more you heard yourself say it, the more intimate the moment became.
But these few months getting to know Satoru better seemed to be far too long a period for the liking of the elders who were beginning to talk more and more about an heir.
Of course it was going to happen, but you had never had a relationship with Satoru, you hadn't even kissed!
Initially, he clearly refused. You remembered well what he told you: "I don't want to force you to do something you don't want to do."
And although his words eased your heart, you knew that this situation wouldn't last forever.
But you and Satoru continued to grow closer.
You no longer slept in separate rooms, and you could feel his warmth under the sheets. Meals were shared, and moments of solitude were quickly overcome when he came home and greeted you: "I'm home."
Welcoming him home had a whole new meaning now. This place was no longer a gilded cage in your eyes, but was gradually transforming into a home for the two of you.
Despite his power, you quickly realize that he was returning injured more and more often after his missions. Nothing serious in itself, but just small cuts here and there.
This had established a ritual; Satoru would lie across your lap, enjoying the sensation of your skin caressing his, his wounds disappearing beneath your touch.
These little moments seemed to lighten Satoru's heart, so who were you to question him about the real reason for his injuries?
More weeks passed, and one important question remained in your mind: Were you ready to carry Satoru's child?
You could feel it now; you had developed feelings for this man.
You no longer just saw him from afar as the strong man he was. You saw him the way a woman sees her husband. You noticed the slight imperfections on his face that made him more human, you understood his doubts and fears, and you tried to ease his suffering as best you could. Every smile that touched his lips filled you with happiness.
So, maybe you finally felt ready to start a family with Satoru.
That night arrived, and all the fears you harbored vanished instantly.
Satoru asked you if you were sure, if you didn't feel pressured by the weight on both of your shoulders.
You could tell he was nervous, but that he wanted it too.
For the two of you, and no one else.
You could feel the gentleness in his gestures as he ran his hands over you.
His kisses were numerous, slow, and calm. The feeling that he held a flower in his hands made him move slowly, not too abrupt for fear of breaking it.
Despite the breathtaking beauty of his perfect body, only one thing caught your attention.
Your eyes were constantly locked on his, as if obsessed with them in a way you couldn't describe.
Passion emanated clearly from both of you, and this wonderful night, in your eyes, ended late into the night.
The only spectator to your dance was the moon high in the sky, keeping your secret with her until sunrise.
Several days had passed since then, and you were feeling changes in your body.
You were easily nauseous and vomited often. You had rather questionable food cravings, and Satoru never missed an opportunity to make fun of you for it.
You told all of this to Satoru's mother, who simply smiled, taking your hand and placing it on your stomach.
"What a question! You're simply pregnant, my dear."
Her words echoed in your head as you lay on your bed. Satoru had left for another mission and would surely return that evening.
You obviously had to tell him! You were pregnant with his child, but you couldn't imagine how he would react.
The moment had finally arrived when you heard Satoru calling you.
He arrived in your room, and without warning, you approached him and placed your hand on his chest; listening to his heart’s beating.
Satoru was slightly surprised, wrapping his arms around you as he simply laughed. "You missed me that much?"
But your lack of response made him realize that something was wrong, but it wasn't just that.
He made you step back slightly and looked you up and down, and he knew one thing for sure: The sixth eye never lie.
You looked at him in surprise, unable to utter a word. How did he know? Had his mother told him?
"I—" You didn't have time to explain before Satoru took you in his arms and spun you around in the air, a childlike smile appearing on his lips.
"You're pregnant! I...We're going to be parents, you and I."
You couldn't help but laugh as you watched his face light up with joy.
You placed your hands on his shoulders, your feet wiggling slightly in the air as your husband held you in his arms.
You nodded gently, feeling tears welling up in your eyes.
He put you down on the ground, embracing you.
You raised your head, this time meeting his serious gaze.
"I will protect you and that child. Even if I have to die for you to be happy, I will do it as many times as necessary."
"Don't talk nonsense. You won't die for anyone. You and I will raise this child as best we can. And as long as we're happy, that's all that matters to me."
His lips parted into a soft smile. His hands around your waist tightened a little more, and after a moment of reflection, he kissed you.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, rising slightly onto your tiptoes; enjoying the feeling of peace that was born in your heart.
You finally walked away after a few moments, seeing only Satoru's indescribable gaze.
He rested his forehead against yours, sighing breathlessly, uttering words you never thought would come out of his mouth.
