Sakae Esuno's "Sincerely, Mayle" /"Mail from the Heart" (ココロよりメイル)

Here it is, the raw Japanese scans of another obscure Sakae Esuno manga—"Mail from the Heart." (Or as @sunniedesi has now discovered, it'd be more accurately called "Sincerely, Mayle.") Consider this the natural follow-up to my scans of "Railway Angel" (and @sunniedesi's subsequent — and GREATLY appreciated — English scanlation of same).

But let's talk about "Sincerely, Mayle." @sunniedesi identified that this missing work in August 2024. As they explained in that post, this story was published in a small supplemental publication called "Aim for Ace!" that was included alongside copies of Monthly Shōnen Ace's June 2003 issue.

The story herein is both written and drawn by Esuno—the creator of Mirai Nikki/Future Diary, Big Order, Hanako and the Terror of Allegory, and more. As of this writing (April 15 2025), this is the last known work of Esuno's that wasn't widely available in any language... but there's always the possibility of more obscure Sakae Esuno works surfacing in the future.

So I just discovered raw scans of AOE online and holy crap Chapter 28 was butchered in the English version! If it was only done for the online version, ignore me, but if not then we were robbed of the following:

Extended fight between Shiemi and Amaimon.

Amaimon getting FUCKED UP.

An extended dialogue between Shiemi and Amaimon after Shiemi has subdued him.

A scene in which Shiemi displays her kind self to Amaimon before they depart.

Then there are a few minor things that were edited out or changed:

Amaimon's bloody face (edited out)

Amaimon's eye looking down at the vines enclosing him after he's defeated (edited so they look up at Shiemi instead)

The vines themselves in the above scene, some cut (possibly a casualty of the edit of the blood on Amaimon's face).

I will show pics tomorrow (on mobile) to illustrate these points but goddamn I wish my Japanese was better so I could get a better sense of the dialogue between these two!
