Various raytraced 3D renders I found on old disks, uncredited.
Some of these may not have been seen in decades, and I think that's a shame. They deserve to be seen.

HORDIKA COMBINERS - updated with the new Hordi-pack created by Ohlu_CG on twitter! https://twitter.com/Ohlu_CG/status/1516501599887241223
While the first 3 combiners look a little cooler now, the last one is still uh... something
Raytraced test render of MELCHIAH’s original 3D low-poly model from “SOUL REAVER 1” with minor modifications I made applied to the textures (Raytraced render inside 3DS Max)
What do raytraced images look like? Like just about anything you can imagine! From obviously "fake" scenes right up to incredibly photorealistic images, the possibilities are endless.

As of this past week, JTracer is complete as it pertains to the course requirements. I compiled my test renders into a single video here to show the evolution as the project grew from 400 lines of C++ code in the first incarnation to just over 3000 8 weeks later. I enjoyed going back through the images as I can recall nearly every issue the image highlights and the eventual fix employed.
Writing a ray tracer is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. However I never had right starting place or motivation for this kind of project. Ultimately I’m very happy for the experience of doing this as a class and I learned a lot about the structure of code and the process of digesting research papers and the associated mathematics into code.
Next term I’ve got class of computer vision, but I hope to begin a new jtracer as well... good times!
