Marathon training W6D7: 5 km easy I felt super gross this whole run, but at least my route was pretty. And now my cat is trying to convince me to stay home with him instead of going to work. 54 kilometres this week!

5km for me this morning, just to keep the legs ticking.
These were #milesformollie, the American student who was murdered while out for a run.
No one should be scared to run alone and no one should have to think of what to bring with them to protect themselves while they run. I’ve always refused to be too scared to run early in the morning, on trails or anywhere not deemed ‘safe’. But it doesn’t mean I’m not nervous heading out sometimes. And that’s a sad way to be for anybody, man or woman 😓
It's been hard to post about training lately because it hasn't been going that well the past few weeks. But I let go of all my expectations this morning for these three miles and had the best time. Need to remember to enjoy the process more. Also, one of the kids in the neighborhood has been writing little inspirational notes with sidewalk chalk. Today's wise words.
First run outside in weeks!! I’m so happy to be running again 😭
Officially back in Utah in the mountains and training for lots of races has commenced! Work up at 9 because I needed sleep and just popped out the door for my longest run in months.
Dear Runblr, please help/advice!
I'm looking for experiences and advice re:nausea after long runs.
During my long runs I seem fine, but after I get nauseated. This did not happen in my previous two marathon training cycles, or at least not frequently. But it has now happened a few times in a row.
Isotonic sports drinks help, so I guess this is dehydration or low blood sugar related. I carry and drink electrolyte solution on the run and have a banana / energy gel every hour.
Has any of you guys have had issues with this? And if so, what worked for you? I'd love to hear about it!
10K Week 2 Day 2. And then some yoga on a real big rock.
A wonderful long run yesterday morning. Much slower than I would’ve liked, but I’m just trying to be cautious. Walked 2 minutes after miles 1, 2, & 3. Walked 1 minute after 3.5 and 4, plus stopped for a hydration/bathroom break. (Forgot to push pause on the run.) The last 2 miles were various bursts of walk/run intervals since that’s further than I’ve gone in several months. I’m definitely still in better shape than I give myself credit for. Cycling 2-3 times a week and running only 1-2 times a week is a much different training plan than I’m used to, but seems to be working out well! 😊💪🏻
