“That guy’s been rolling his abs and winking at me for the last twenty minutes.” Caitlyn wasn’t exactly.. equipped to deal with that kind of confrontation and so she tried to ignore it. Cheeks might have reddened had her blood flowed freely, but nevertheless, she locked hues with the newcomer in a bid to force them into saving her. “I thought if I ignored it and didn’t look that he’d stop, but it’s... he’s really getting into it. --- Save me, I’ll buy you lunch in return.”

It was official: he had learned nothing. The realization kneecapped him as he pulled into this place for the third time in his life, once again chasing after something stupid and hopeless. He thought he had outgrown his masochistic streak, apparently that thought was the dumbest thing of all. “So, no more fires I’m guessing?”

“I’m not a miracle worker,” Felix lied, looking down at the very, very dead plant. “I don’t know what you want me to say, the weather’s been messing with all the early bloomers.”

Grumbling to herself as various necessities began to accumulate in her backpack for tonight’s hunt, it hardly mattered whether the other individual overheard anymore. “People in this fuckin’ town are losing all perspective,” she muttered. “It’s like I’m the only one with a goddamn brain to see what’s really happening.” Faith in her own had begun to dwindle hunter by hunter until Beck could hardly decipher where to place any semblance of trust these days.

"I don’t usually pay for somebody else, but you’ve provided me with enough entertainment to last at least until Thursday. At least you can rest easy knowing that someone is having a laugh about it.”
