My country is run by idiots
My school, like many, has over 700 students + the staff. We have 3 floors (+ basement, but there’s barely any room there). That gives around 250 people per floor.
We see outbreaks at weddings that can have 150 people max and the government expects people to spend several hours per day, five days a week in overcrowded buildings.
Among those people you can find children and teens, some with conditions that put them in high risk and many people over 50 (in 2018/2019 average teacher age was 44).
And on top of that there will not be a mandate on covering your face.
There were 20 confirmed cases of Coronavirus when schools were closed, yesterday (August 4th) there were 680 new ones.
I know that not all schools are as crowded as mine, but with the government having reformed the education system recently many are. And even if the hallways won’t be crowded, the classrooms will.
And we still have to take younger kids into consideration, it's not like 6-year-old’s are going to stay away from each other and wash their hands often. They’re children, they don’t know any better.
I honestly don’t understand how someone might think that this is a good idea. Schools are gonna get closed again in October, there is no way they won’t. And all we’re gonna get from this one month of school are gonna be deaths.
