Rostros del cine y la cultura piden en un corto la redefinición del verbo “maquillar”

En la actualidad, las dos definiciones que recoge la Real Academia Española (RAE) del verbo maquillar son: 1-“aplicar cosméticos a alguien o a una parte de su cuerpo, especialmente su rostro, para embellecerlo o modificar su aspecto” y 2- “modificar la apariencia de algo para disimular su verdadera naturaleza”. En ambas acepciones prevalecen conceptos como modificar o disimular, algo que para Shiseido, el artista multidisciplinar Ernesto Artillo y la poeta Elvira Sastre no responde a la realidad cultural actual, en la que maquillarse se entiende más bien como un gesto vinculado a expresar la identidad personal o resaltar la propia naturaleza y unicidad de cada ser, con sus imperfecciones.

Con el objetivo de proponer a la  RAE la inclusión de una nueva definición del verbo maquillar, la marca de cosmética japonesa y el artista malagueño han realizado un cortometraje con el título Re_, que invita al espectador a reflexionar sobre lo establecido y que pretende empoderar a las personas y su diversidad, ya sea racial, social, cultural, de género o de no género, a través del maquillaje en su expresión artística.

Personas tan distintas entre sí como las actrices Bárbara Lennie y Ana Polvorosa, el actor Paco León, la diseñadora Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, la actriz transexual Abril Zamora, el artista y estilista Javier de la Blanca, la bailarina japonesa Haruhi Otani o Jamal Hussein, un modelo de 18 años que huyó de Somalia hace diez años para no tener que participar en la guerrilla, participan en este corto.

La nueva acepción para el verbo maquillar ha sido elaborada por la poeta segoviana Elvira Sastre, que comenta: “Creo firmemente en el poder de las palabras y en la capacidad de evolución de las mismas, de adaptarse a las nuevas realidades que nos acompañan. No creo que eso pase por cambiarlas, pero sí por redefinirlas, por aportarles un nuevo significado que se ajuste más a su uso actual. Por eso, creo que la palabra «maquillar» necesita esa nueva acepción que hable de identidad, de voluntad, de libertad y de reafirmación en uno mismo”.

En palabras de Marta Díaz, directora de comunicación de Shiseido España, “proponemos una revisión de lo que significa maquillar o maquillarse, no tanto como una forma de ocultar quién eres sino de reafirmarte, de expresar tu auténtica identidad. No se trata de lo que quieres decir, sino de cómo lo dices a través del maquillaje”. Ahora más que nunca tiene que ver con una forma de expresarse, de contar algo, de reforzar una identidad en lugar de taparla, esconderla o mejorarla. La mejor versión de una propia identidad es el máximo exponente de uno mismo”.

La pieza, de 1´14 minutos, transcurre a través de las propias palabras y reflexiones de los participantes y todas comienzan por ese Re_, sin un guión establecido, sino en base a sus propias vivencias, aportando así más realismo a cada una de las historias. Los participantes expresan corporalmente su frase y terminan “entregándose” a Ernesto Artillo, que interpreta artísticamente estas reflexiones sobre el rostro de cada uno de ellos a través del maquillaje.

El cortometraje Re_ será el primer paso para solicitar a la RAE la inclusión de esta nueva definición. Tras su lanzamiento, Shiseido enviará una petición formal a la Real Academia Española, y continuará las gestiones necesarias para lograr la inclusión de este nuevo concepto que ha evolucionado y que ya es una realidad en la calle.

THE_LINK

THE_LINK is an ability that is frequently present in the world of ://RE. The general idea when it comes to this ability, is that it’s a concept. A concept of being able to transfer over power and knowledge, from one entity to another. Whether they would be human or not. Of course, with it being a connective type ability, it must be carried over from one entity, who was deemed powerful and willing enough to use it, to another that’s equal or greater in those two aspects.

However, even though THE_LINK can be carried over from one entity to another, It can also be hereditary, meaning that a newborn, who is blood related to a user of THE_LINK, would have the ability to carry over this ability, taking into consideration that his, her or its soul is powerful enough to withstand the ability’s pressure.

As with every ability, this one originated from one single entity, but this one is slightly different. As this entity has been around ever since the beginning of existence. That of course being Zeta, The god of story and time. It originally created this ability to ensure there would always be someone or something to look towards, that could keep the balance of existence in order, no matter what the magnitude of this would be. It was also created to make sure that the abilities and knowledge that these powerful entities carried, would always be carried over from one user to the other, no matter how big the gap of time would be.

As for the ability’s physical appearance, should a user use this ability, then a blue aura would form around their body and they would be able to use certain powers of previous users.
