I adore this work. I like how it's about the people in a way and not just about The Threat. It's very obvious why this is scary. Show me a bear chomping at the air and snarling, I'll agree it looks ferocious, but not really scary.

Show me someone in a cabin, hand clutched over mouth, nails digging into the wood, trying to stay as quiet as possible as the crazed bear is twenty feet outside the door...

Now it's terrifying.

Here, though, even alone the monster is creepy and scary or whatever it is all by it's own. But I also like that on top of that, although we already know why, we have a what to be scared for. Send in superman? I don't care because he'll be fine. Send in mc? I want them to be okay.

This if is so turbulent with the setting and just knowing to be scared even if it isn't logical. Like some creepy lore drops like the comments about the school and the mc just moves on and I'm sitting there needing to take a minute. Then it's the cold horror of the monster, but then it's coupled with the fear for the cast. The fear for the cast and the fear of the monster put on top of just the absolute lack of complete safety because of the setting.

Great stuff. Throwing in some mundane stuff tops it off because then it let's the horrorific elements be their own, and throwing in even more non scary stuff like the movies or whatever makes it feel so real and that adds such detail that the monster can exist in a nuanced, sometimes calm world which makes all of it all the more worse, but better when it isn't bad.

Sorry for the ramble, but all of the above can be summarized, overwritten, and replaced by I enjoy this work. It's just fun. Simply that.

I do love finding out about a season two. In my head I was like oh boy, can't wait till all is well as can be, hopefully no more proble-

I sat there in just dismay but in a good way, because season 1 implies season 2. Then I looked for more info and yup.

Something I’m currently working on for a blessed headcanon by @bnha-scenerios-imagines... you might know the one! 

Oh- did you think I was done after I completely outdid myself? Nah dude.

“Why illustrate a character x reader M/C?” you may ask: It’s fun. Because even though m/c are meant to be broad, each writer tends to designate some personality traits that would align well with that character. It’s fun for me to try and put a face to that broad MC-hone it, while still using the guidelines the writer has given me. 

As I gain more confidence in illustrating characters outside my own, as well as start college, I want to take on smaller projects despite this uh getting out of hand. 

While I do design the characters, I would not call them my OC’s (besides Kanasu my adopted baby). They are not mine to really manipulate and control, merely put a face to. 

Maybe this blog will gain traction. Maybe it won’t. The happiness it seems to bring the writers is more than enough for me.

Do I read the latest drop (Chapter 4) of FFY now??? I mean it’s under 5K… BUT I CAN IMAGINE THE DETAILS!!! BUT!! It means I have to wait longer for Chapter 5!!! AND!!! What if MLT drops tomorrow!!?? Which would mean I have TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GENRES AND BIASES TO READ AND IMMERSE MY HEAD INTO!!! 🤯🤯🤯

Also not me checking the editing status of for Chapter 2 of LTH like daily…? 🙈

Random Reading Thoughts and Updates...

1. I read Act Like It (finally) thank you for the rec @riley1cannon and @mariaslozak

2. I found a cheap(ish) series with adventure and the dangers of snow (I live with lots of snow so this is legit for me.) and find them good - but there is like... no perspective from the dudes? Minimal at best in the two I have read... I don’t know how I feel about it... Will keep mulling this over as I read the others... 

3. Why have I found more sale items of contemporary than historical fiction? Is this just a perception?

4. And why - this might just be me - do I enjoy historical fiction more in the winter? Is it more escapism for me? Is it because I don’t wear cut off jeans and have humiditities? I mean I love me some historical fiction no matter what but seriously - contemporary seems to fit my summer mode... 

5. New release tomorrow!!!

6. I go back to work next week and will slow down on books - my wallet is happy I am slowing down - but also back to school...

yall my family is so fucking dumb I swear to fucking god. Like my mom to Colorado for a funeral (for her boyfriend which idrc about he’s an abusive piece of shit) and she decided to smuggle back a quarter of a pound of fucking weed back to North Dakota. You know what’s happened every single time she’s tried to do that? She’s gotten arrested for possession and a slap on the wrist. But now my mom went to jail for distribution with intent because they also had 4k in cash with them. 

Like she didn’t even both to connect the fucking dots that cash + money to the police is distribution. Which is a federal! fucking! offense! And then she gets pissy that her mom won’t pay 10k for the lawyer. Which, I wouldn’t either if my fifty year old daughter is that fucking stupid. 

But what pisses me off the most is the fact that she now refuses to help me with the trip, and ya know what? Fine. Whatever.
