Like his brothers, Leonardo had never been in a romantic relationship before
Being a mutated turtle, he struggled to imagine it was even a possibility for him
Even when given the opportunity to become human( see: Out of the Shadows), he declined because he had accepted his life, his fate
And then you came along
You had been April’s friend for a long time through childhood and college
When you moved back to New York, April and you had become roommates
It was hard for April to keep you from her secret friends
Rumors spread all throughout New York City about these giant vigilantes, though you didn’t recall anybody mentioning they weren’t human
Superhuman, maybe
It wasn’t a love-at-first-sight connection either
You were wary of them at first, staying close to April and Casey whenever you had visited them at the lair
You didn’t scream or faint when you saw them at first
Leo thought that was impressive
You began coming to the lair more and more often without the accompaniment of your human friends
After all, they said you were always welcomed
You came in the mid-morning to make breakfast sometimes, you brought your favorite books to read when it was quiet
You even beat Mikey at some of his favorite videogames
As the weeks went on, you couldn’t help but feel something when you saw Leonardo every time you visited
He felt the same way
The feeling confused him and he brushed it aside
Then he started inviting you to meditate with him
He hummed while he meditated, and you often interrupted his silence with your laughter at his humming
He didn’t mind
He loved your laugh
He began to teach you basic self-defense, knowing that even being associated with them could put you in danger
He beamed with pride at every accomplishment you made no matter how small
The walks around the sewers late at night began
You asked each other questions about your lives, how you were doing mentally, things you were working on
He began to text you “Good morning” and “Goodnight” daily
You were going on four months of knowing the turtles, and you were the happiest you had ever been
Work was going amazing, you had amazing friends, and if you didn’t feel your best, you knew where you could go
You were in the middle of making dinner alongside Mikey (who had named himself your best turtle friend, you didn’t have the heart to say no) like you did often nowadays
Leonardo came in the kitchen, sniffing the air, and he smiled at you
Your heart lept
After dinner, Leonardo and yourself went on one of your regular nightly walks before the guys went out on patrol
He walked a little closer to you that night
During a lull in conversation, you decided to switch the subject, heart pounding
“Do you ever think about being in a relationship?”
Leo.exe has stopped
“Uh, what do you mean?”
“In general” you said quickly, not sure how he’d react to you specifying it being a relationship with you
“I’ve thought about it. I remember thinking about it a lot when I was younger, more naive. About having a girlfriend, getting married, having a family- what about you?”
You shrugged
“I’ve been in relationships before. I mean, I’m not in one right now.”
You felt you had to specify
“They were great and all, but I always felt like something was missing. I’d think I was happy, but after the relationship’s end, I’d realise how much of myself I had lost trying to be someone I’m not”
“Why would you pretend to be someone else? You’re perfect just the way you are, Y/N”
Your heart was pounding fast again
“Do you still think a relationship is out of the cards for you, Leo?”
He smiled at you
“If you had asked me that six months ago, I’d probably say yes. But I’m not so sure anymore.”
You nudged him playfully
“Oh, meet someone interesting?”
“She’s pretty great, actually. She gets along with my brothers, she takes in interest in what I’m interested in, and best of all, she isn’t afraid of me”
You stopped walking, instead turning to face him
“So what’s stopping you?”
Leonardo had never stared into your very soul before this exact moment
“If she says no, then what I have built with her will all come crashing down”
You brought your hand up to gently graze his cheek, he leaned into your touch
“Sometimes you have to take that risk for yourself”
He knelt down slowly and brought his lips to yours
You felt like your feet were no longer on the ground, but they certainly were
Oh, man, you had it bad
When you finally parted, you just couldn’t stop smiling
Neither could he
“Y/N, would you do me the honor in being my girlfriend?”
You couldn’t remember saying anything after that, really, but let’s just say that your obvious answer was ‘yes’
One thing I don't like about TMNT x Reader is that no one can really hear y/n and the ninja of choice
Like whenever tmntx reader, y/n(the reader) and the ninja of choice are together and.. things are getting heated, no one can really hear the reader and the turtle??
Like i read this one story where y/n and one turtle were going fucking ape-shit. Afterwards everyone else acted normal. Like nothing had happened. Like they couldn't hear a damn thing.
If I heard some moans coming from my sibling's room, I would scream
I would then proceed to break down the door and beat whosever ass i gotta beat for doing that shit with my sibling.
And - okay, I get if the reader is in their own apartment - that's a pass. You're in the privacy of your own home, alone. That's okay.
But if y/n is in the lair, and the rest of the turtles are gone, listen, you ain't alone. Their dad is literally in the dojo. Like he never leaves the lair.
There's no possible way he isn't going to take out a weapon and try to beat up who his son is with. You're gonna tell me he is not going to bust out a katana, and shank the skank who his kid is with???
Prompt: I saw that your requests are open, and I was wondering if it was possible you could do a soft head cannon of the 4 turtles bois comforting a smol stressed SO who pushed themselves too hard while trying to work out?
Thanks for the request! I only did Leo and Raph for now, but I might add something for Don and Mikey when inspiration for them strikes me xx
Leonardo
It was a few months into you knowing the ninja turtles, and only a few weeks since you had started dating Honor Boy
He took a while to get the hint
It was the honeymoon phase of your relationship and, of course, you wanted (needed) to spend every second of every day together that was physically possible
You practically had your name on the lease (if they even leased the sewers)
You usually joined Leonardo when he meditated, even though it didn’t always end with the two of you still meditating
One day, he asked you if you wanted to train with him
Sure, why not?
The days that followed were probably the worst days of your life
Two days straight of doing everything Leo asked you to do
Squats, deadlifts, running through the sewers
You had never felt more like death in your entire life
Did you mention that you really never worked out before this?
A week in, and four days filled of vigorous training, you found yourself like a cement block in his bed
You had no energy to move
It almost hurt to even breathe or turn to lay on your side
“Sweetheart, whatcha doin’? Come on, it’s time to go!”
“More training?” you barely got out
You would surely die if you had any more
As much as you wanted to please him and join him on his daily activities, this simply wasn’t going to happen
“Bailing on me already, huh?”
You didn’t want to, you didn’t want to think of yourself as a quitter
But your body had other things planned
Most of them involved acting a corpse and not moving unless being moved by force
“Can I take a rain check, hon? Please? I don’t think I can handle another session”
“I keep forgetting that you’re not used to this. Did I push you too hard?”
“A little”
Then your favorite turtle crawled into bed with you
He could probably use a day off, too
Raphael
This boi was so excited that you wanted to weight train with him
His brothers would train with him sometimes, but it never lasted long
No, he trained for hours at a time in the weight room
And his baby now wanted to join him?
Oh, he was elated
“Come on, babe, let’s see what your maxes are! We can do bench first”
And you absolutely loved it
It was exhilarating, feeling so much power run through you as you lifted those weights and could feel those muscles almost tear apart
Sure, you could only lift barely one-fifth of what he could, but I digress
Raphael immediately had you on a 4-day schedule. Rest day, upper body, lower body, rest, upper body, lower body, rest
His own routine was a lot more complicated and consisted of less rest days
He figured you needed an extra day off
By the second upper body day, you could feel your body start to give out
You were in the middle of doing five reps of over one hundred pounds on the bench
By now, Raphael thought you were comfortable enough to not need him to spot you
As you began to grunt out the word ‘four’, you gasped
No, this was not your day
You could hear Raphael’s bar and weights hit the ground instantly
“Baby! Babe, are you okay?”
The bar you had been lifting had landed right on your throat when your arms gave out
“Fine” you managed to say
Was that really your voice?
“Four reps at one-twenty-five, that’s pretty good, baby”
You did, in fact, not feel ‘pretty good’
‘Shit’ was a far better descriptor
Raphael wasted no time sitting you up and placing you in his lap, observing your neck
“That does not look good”
“For once, it wasn’t you leaving bruises on my neck, eh?”
Prompt: Hey same anon you answered earlierl sorry im late, i know you do stuff at a certain time TuT dont wanna be a burden. Recently i got sick and it's rare that i do. Im usually one not to cry or talk about feelings when healthy... kinda keep it to myself. But, I will sob, whine, sleep and everything when i am sick. How would the boys deal with seeing their s/o like that compared to normal? Care for them? Talk them through it? Im sick rn and a wreck 😂 XD
Thank you for this prompt! Man, do I understand this feeling. I hope you like it!
Leonardo
You were truly a mess
Your head felt full, your sinuses were stuffed up the wazoo, you couldn’t hear anything but a buzzing noise out of your right ear
It was pitiful
There you rested on the futon in Leonardo’s room, surrounded by a blanket of your used tissues
Only half of them were filled with snot
The other half were wet with salty tears
“It’s okay, honey, you’ll feel better soon”
*sniffle* “But what if something happens to me?”
“What do you-”
“What if this is the end?” *cough*
“Hon, this isn’t the end. You’re just sick.”
Leonardo kissed your forehead
“I just love you so much and I can’t tell you that enough” you were crying again
Leonardo took it in stride
“And I don’t tell you enough that I love you”
He put up with your dramatic ass like a pro
“Would you love me even if I were a worm?”
“Baby, yes I would”
“Are you going to leave me for a worm??”
Well, almost like a pro
Raphael
This guy pretended everything was fine when he was around his brothers
But when it was just you and him?
Oh, he was a worry wart
You were typically so put together
This threw him off completely
He seriously thought you were days away from death
Sure, you were walking around and talking, but you resembled a zombie
“Hey! Hey, do you need me to get you some tea with honey, babe?”
You started to cry again
“That’s so sweet and thoughtful of you!”
*tears*
Raphael’s heart was racing
He ran to the kitchen at top speed to make you some tea, huffing and puffing, pacing with every step
He did that after getting you back into bed, of course
When he brought you the tea, you started bawling again
“You’re just so sweet and good to me, Raphie”
You never called him that, ever
But he was not about to tell you off about it
His baby was sick, and he needed to take care of you
Even if it meant himself having a heart attack
Donatello
This guy knew illnesses
He had to play physician for his family after all
However, he was not ready for you to be this steaming pile of mess
“Donnie, Don Don, Tellie, Donatelli, Donnie-Telli”
He was trying to keep it together
Sure, it stressed him out to be out of the lab for such long periods, but his love was more important than that
The lab was far more predictable tho
“How’re you feeling, Princess? Any cooler?”
You started to hum ‘Burning Love’ by Elvis, ignoring his question
He shook his head, pressing his palm to your forehead in lieu of a thermometer
“You are burning up still”
“Can I have another blanket? And cuddles from my lovey-dovey?”
Who was he to say no?
Lab time could wait
He gathered up as many blankets as he could carry and brought them to your bedside
If Princess was cold (even though you had a fever), Princess needed blankets
He cursed himself for not having a heated blanket
You scooted yourself as close to him as physically possible, practically glueing yourself to his side
He kissed the top of your head gingerly
“Now, what about Burnin’ Love?”
Michelangelo
“Does my Angelcakes need some more cuddles?”
Mikey was the most on top of things when you were sick
He was at your side constantly, handing you a tissue at any sign of a sniffle
Even when you babbled on about nonsense things, he supported you
“I can’t believe I did this thing five years ago, how embarrassing!”
A waterfall of tears
Mikey just kissed those tears away
“Angel, I’m sure it was really nothing! You’re probably the only one that remembers that happened!”
“But what if they remember it, too?”
He barely knew what you were talking about, but boi did he try his best to keep up
“So what if they do? Fuck ‘em! You’re here now, killin’ it”
You were akin to a koala on his arm
It was just so easy to cling on to, plus the coolness of his skin complimented your fever
“Are you sure you love me?”
“Of course, Angel! Why wouldn’t I?”
“Even though I’m so messed up?”
“Angelcakes, I love you because you’re the way you are, like how you love me the way I am”
“Can’t believe you love me when I’m such a mess”
“Angel, Angel, Angel”
“We’re all a little messed up sometimes. I’m just glad you let me be here for you”

There was nothing that you hated more than missing your target. You were a competitive girl, someone who aimed for perfection... and when you didn't succeed, you easily became frustrated. Fortunately, you had worked to become the best. To some, you were, indeed, the best. You had earned that title through your hard work and determination. Despite your sassy nature and short fuse, you were still a diligent learner who tackled your goals obstacle by obstacle. Unlike many girls your age, you weren't afraid to get down and dirty.
Your parents thought that you were hopeless, that you would never live to become the prissy lady that they wanted you to be. As much as you hated to displease them, you couldn't help it. The frilly and perfumed life was not for you. You had a wild spirit, and they had better accept it. Very possibly against his better judgment, your younger brother had carved you a bow. You secretly bought arrows with a bit of spare gold and practiced this art of archery on your own.
A small grunt of effort grazed past your lips as you let an arrow loose. You loved the feeling of strain in your arm as you drew the string of the bow backwards. In just a blink of an eye, you saw that your arrow had hit its mark, and the halves of an apple from the tree tumbled to the ground. You stepped forward, picking up both halves, one in each hand. Upon seeing that they weren't split perfectly, you growled in frustration.
So close... you seethed mentally. So close but yet so far away. As hard as you worked, you still had difficulty making every arrow hit its target. You slumped against the trunk of the tree, biting into one of the apple halves. You would have to practice some more. Perhaps you could find some time to come out before dinner... would you parents become suspicious?
Probably. With a growl of frustration, you chewed and swallowed, knowing that your mother and father would be quite upset if they found out that you were practicing archery behind their backs. Only your brother knew, and you planned on keeping it that way.
Part of you wished that you could be more like your sister. She was younger than you by four years, but she was the crowned jewel of the family, the one who everyone seemed proud of. Your parents would gladly introduce her to their friends at parties, while they kept you hidden in the back. You didn't mind so much because you didn't like these formal occasions to begin with, but it was their shame and frustration that upset you.
You only wanted them to be proud of you, to smile when they said your name. However, you didn't want that if you couldn't earn their satisfaction by faking who you were. You couldn't be the person who they wanted you to be, but you had yet to find a way to make them see that.
Chapter two: back to USA "It's so amazing how beautiful autumn is in here!" I gasped when I got out from an air port. I had just came back from (country name) and it had been about one to two years since I last time was here. In America. I felt fresh. New and so full of energy. I had left all the bad memories behind and now I was ready to be here once again. As a new person. I had grown. Really much. I actually hoped that no one would recognise me. I went to my old house that I had put on rent when I left. Now it was mine again. I wanted to change everything inside my house, decorate it, so it would look at least a little bit different. I had gotten rid of all my old stuff, couch, bed and shelfs. All that was left was my kitchen supplies and little things like books and movies and other. When I was ready I just fell on my living room's couch. It felt so soft, smelled new, looked comfy and sweet. Like candy for my eyes. I laid my head on a soft, furry pillow. Snuggled closer to the softness under my cheek with my eyes closed. The whole house was now so much welcoming and it really felt like home to me. When I left, all I was able to feel here was betrayal. Now that dark aura was gone. Hopefully for good. Soon I started to drift to sleep. I had laid there about half an hour and I just kept falling asleep and then suddenly snapping back to reality. Then I understood why. I had had this weird instinct that every time someone was present I would wake up. So there had to be an uninvited visitor around my home. I walked over to my window, my bare toes curling after stepping to a cold floor from a soft carpet that ended about couple inches away from my window. I opened it and looked out side. The wind was exactly what you would expect it to be. Cold, a little slow but at the same time nice. It was surprisingly dark even though it was late. The sky still not clear enough to show any stars. *BAM* Someone was probably walking on the fire escape. I was so familiar with the sounds the pipes and ladders made when someone's weight was on them. This time they were screeching pretty loudly. Not something I had not heard before but still a bit triggering. "Hello?" I called out. I tried to be silent enough for neighbours to be able to sleep but loud enough for the intruder. "Anybody there?" Then the sounds stopped. It was silent for awhile and then I heard loud noise from the ladders. From the shadows the intruder showed their face. Curiously looking at me. I almost gasped from shock. "(Y/n)?" It was Leo! What was he doing in here?
