what I love about reading classic literature is that when someone asks me what I'm reading, I can just say "oh, [insert book name] and they go wow, awesome, she's so sophisticated and move on.

and I don't have to sit there for half an hour struggling to explain the plot of the latest fantasy book I'm reading (that I don't actually understand) whilst simultaneously convincing them I'm not insane.
