i am once again terrified that one day a celebrity i really care about will turn out to have done horrible things
books i read in 2022: real easy by marie rutkoski
Georgia tried to sign up for the busiest shifts, believing that was safer, but now she wonders if that’s the wrong strategy, like how zebras gather in a herd. She no longer drinks in the club, only bottled water backstage. She avoids country roads at night.
But there is a compulsion. She thinks again of fairy tales. The woman who had to eat the witch’s watercress. The one who touched the pricking spindle. Who talked to the wolf. The ones who had to know.

my favourite pastime is watching my friends immediately guess and expose my type whenever i watch a new show like it's fully becoming my motivation to watch more of them
To all the folks here who jump in to declare personal stories fake,
I'm sorry that the kids in your life have never, even by accident, said something cool.
I'm sorry that you've never seen someone stand up to bigotry.
I'm not sorry if you've never had to experience bigotry and know that nothing could really be done, but count yourself lucky, not universal.
I'm sorry that no one around you has ever had that glorious moment of having a snappy comment come to you in time and get out the way you thought it. Is fun.
I'm sorry you've never encountered one of the strange and wacky product mistakes that occasionally make it past quality control.
I'm sorry you've never had a cool and/or adorable animal encounter.
In short, I'm sorry that nothing interesting enough to get big notes happens to you, but that's no reason to assume other people have to make it up. Don't be so bitter.
