Are you still sticking to your theory that when your in the city of light that you are moving in "digital reality" and also the "real reality" because in the premiere of season 3 jaha seemed to be completed still but his mind was in the city of light ?
See, since we have only seen the first episode it is hard to theorize what ‘the rules’ are in this two plane existence. Seriously all of this could be sooooo off book because we legit know next to nothing. So, as of right now, my theory to why Jaha is in a ‘meditating’ state while in The City of Light is because ALIE isn’t done with her programming or mapping of the earth for ‘complete immersion’ into The City of Light. Jaha isn’t able to move around in the real physical world without running into things that aren’t in The City of Light, that is why the mapping need to be complete.
So, how is this possible for Jaha to be in The City of Light being still? Is he also still in The City of Light? Those are questions I asked myself. My answer would be that your brain also controls your motor functioning. Think about when you are sleeping how you are able to move around in your dreams but you are stationary in reality – that is what she is doing to Jaha. He is experiencing the visions ALIE is giving him or what the ‘chips/device/thing’ are programmed to do with your brain chemistry to create scenarios. These scenarios/scene are what Jaha is seeing in The City of Light.
I also asked myself: If people are able to be stationary while in the City of Light, why would she need to map the earth? Well, my response would be that she still needs humans to interact in this real reality in order for the human race to survive. Humans aren’t digital they have biological needs. Humans need to move, eat, drink, etc. in order to survive. Their muscles would atrophy if they wouldn’t be able to eat or drink if they were in this ‘stationary state’ for a prolonged period of time. They also wouldn’t be able to reproduce and keep the human population a live either. The human body must survive in the real reality in order for them to live in The City of Light. In the City of Light ALIE can control human behavior to create ‘perfect humans’ that won’t repeat history.
You might be asking about how all this fits into my finale theory. In this theory, Lexa and the others that are trapped in The City of Light would be in the ‘stationary state’ of being in the real reality – like Jaha was –while being able to move around in The City of Light in their mind (The City of Light is like a dream state in my theory). Due to humans having biological needs in the real reality, this could add to the urgency of Clarke and everyone finding a way to bring them back before their real bodies die. There is only so much the Skaikru can do to keep people alive, they still don’t have enough medical equipment to keep people a live for long. They don’t have a viable way to feed them or have ‘rehab people’ that keep their bodies from atrophying due to lack of moving. So, this would up the intensity to find ‘a cure’ in season 4.
ALIE has 2 versions of The City of Light: 1) ‘complete immersion’ and 2) ‘mind immersion’. Complete immersion is when you are moving in the real reality while being mentally in The City of Light. Mind immersion is when your body is stationary while you are mentally in The City of Light. Complete immersion is a sustainable immersion, while mind immersion is only temporary due to human needs.
In order for ALIE’s ‘complete immersion’ to work she has to have EVERY HUMAN in The City of Light in this ‘complete immersion’ state. This is why she needs to kill OR convert all the grounders. She need to do this so that they won’t kill the people that are in ‘complete immersion’ that are unaware of any threat. So, one of my theories is that Lexa is in the REAL reality while Clarke is moving round in the REAL reality but mentally in The City of Light (she is in ‘complete immersion’). Now, due to this, I think that Lexa is seeing Grounder!Clarke and not s1!Clarke.
Let me present an example scenario: Clarke is walking though the streets in The City of Light; however, in the real reality she is walking in a the woods or in the ruins of a city. Lexa only sees Clarke walking and being frightened and seeing things that aren’t in the ‘real reality’. Clarke is also unaware of dangers in the real reality that she can’t see due to being in ‘complete immersion.’ There could be a warrior about to kill her and she would have no idea they are there. Lexa sees Clarke walking and afraid and Lexa is able to get Clarke to see her, even though Clarke is mentally in The City of Light. Lexa is in only in the real reality and due to their “real human connection” Clarke is able to break through the mind control and see Lexa.
