It was morning, too early AND you had a gremlin spamming you at this hour on a damn break day.
That gremlin being one of your friends that was too full of energy for his own well-being.
Life is really shit.
Despite your grumbles, It was the perfect evening to go out.
The sun was setting and the soft orange hues of the sky shone every glass made object, and it somehow was the same day your friend group were each on their free day─so then why waste a break day? Isn't it better to go to the tavern?
When you received a message of Venti asking if you could come with him to a biethday you didn't think much of it and accepted directly. But now you regretted, you regretted terribly.
You should've known that the bard would bring you here─to AngelShare. It was his favorite place to drink because the owner of it was one of his 'friends', a friend of his that you were trying to avoid as you got a ridiculously crush on him.
And a friend of his who you also completely forgot that today was HIS birthday
You loved him so much you were trying to avoid him. Which was dumb because your friends are his friends and you risked seeing him anywhere. But yoj still like him to this day.
Nit that someone could blame you, his blazing red hair and attractive crimson eyes did nothing to soothe the loud thumps of your heart against your chest. On the rare nights he would take the patron's place─which is unfortunately tonight─you noticed that his suit was very fitting, his toned chest swaying any ladies, and of course you too.
It was 20 minutes ago that the handsome man came in the bar, 20 minutes since your friends were cackling in your misery. And 20 minutes you've been trying to stay sane while having a blush more red than his hair.
"You're doing horribly at hiding your blush, just so you know." The cold voice of Rosalia spoke up, lips already back on her glass. "He'll just think you have a fever and come check you."
"Ugh...I know! It's just─I didn't know he'd be here tonight, I look like a mess!" You defended, one hands staying at the side of your face like a dam.
"You're never a mess?" Kaeya confusingly said. "Atleast not a mess enough for my brother to not fall for you."
"Is this supposed to be an encouragement?"
"It was." He chuckled, eyes going back and forth between you and your crush behind the bar. "What do you even find in him? He has the personality of a rock─"
"He's pretty, smart AND caring. There's so much more but I don't want him to overhear."

After chatting with them for some more minutes, your table was already fully drunk─atleast you and a slightly tipsy Venti as the others had high tolerance.
And unfortunately since it's his birthday, and Diluc is friends with them─with you too but you've been avoiding him since you developped a crush on him, coward enough, he had to eventually come and talk with you.
"Drunk already?" He asked, staring at Venti before turning to you, expression changing into surprise. "Ah [Name], we see each other again." He smiled, remembering you from highschool.
You just smiled awkwardly, nodding his way before turning back around. Which was not it because you just embarrassed yourself even more right now.
"I'll bring you some water." He informed, brushing past your weird reaction a bit too easily but you were thankful for it.
And after that, you had to deal with dying hyenas as they all laughed in your face.
Not even laughing quietly, these damn dumbasses.
When the bar was almost empty and some of his aquaintances left, Diluc sat down at your table─very much attempting to not make his friends arrival go to waste. He wasn't really a birthday person, but he still appreciated the thought. Which was honestly adorable, the sight of him trying to hide the little happy smile as he let out a breathy chuckle every once in a while was genuinely cute.
"It's been long since you and [Name] last met huh?" Venti started, now less drunk as the water─that he reluctantly drank, sobered him up. "Isn't that the best birthday gift?"
That prick.
"Yeah, I've been looking for you." He said, until he realized that what he said might have come out wrong and immediately corrected himself. "Uhm, since highschool and all, I mean."
"Oh my god, I remember how much you used─and still have the audacity to continue, to ask about her. It seemed like you didn't have a lif─OUCH."
The red man stared at him─red for another reason as he had a red tint on hid cheeks. "It was before. And I asked because she's my friend."
Right. Friend.
The cold reminder. You really didn't need it now. You had a bitter smile on your face when he said that, clearly done with acting. You didn't want to ruin his birthday at all, really hated the idea, so you just stood up and announced that it was late and that you had to go. Watching them turn to you with surprise on their face.
"I'll drive you back."
"No need."
"It's late, and you have no ride home."
"It's your birthday, don't ruin it for me. The others are coming with me."
"Sorry [Name], we can't come with you today─"
They did this on purpose. They were your ride home and now they're just saying that they can't come with you─you would have thanked them if it wasn't for them making you go with q man that only sees you as a friend.
Now he was closing the tavern, bar cleaned and apron off as the keys giggled in his hand before putting them in his pockets.
Rosalia, Venti and Kaeya just looked at you as he walked you toward his motorcycle. Oh, they sure were about to get one hell of a beating.

"You didn't have to." You said, pouting as he put his helmet on your head before helping you climb on his motorcycle.
He smiled, sitting infront of you. "I wanted to." The motorcycle rumbled. "Hold me tight."
It was now night, the stars were clearly visible, and the buildings were lit up. You were both in silence, except for the sounds of the engine of the magnificent red motorcycle, his signature color at this point, it was worthy of a true biker.
You would have preferred to remain silent, giving him a hug disguised as a safety protocol, but of course, your behavior earlier wasn't normal and he HAD to talk about it─ Much to your dismay.
"Sorry if I misinterpreted it─but have you been avoiding me?" He asked, stopping at a red light to start the conversation. "You can ignore my question if you're uncomfortable answering."
"I didn't mean to─I just...I'm sorry its a dumb reason really."
He listened, nodding in understanding as you didn't talk more. "It's just that I missed you terribly...I didn't know what to do when I didn't have any news on you."
Your eyed shone, a hint of hope appearing. "I've missed you too!"
You two fell back into silence again. Hands fidgetting as they were infront of him. He watched them, stared at your freshly done nails before taking your hands in his.
He carressed them, poking your nails with his gloves. The states this man put you in while being clueless is criminal.
"I like you."
Did.. you hear that right?
"More than a friend should actually." He said out of nowhere, putting his motorcycle out of the road before continuing the discussion. "You can forget what I just said─you just..mean a lot to me [Name]."
Your heart was pounding, and the fact that your cheeks were now red was not reassuring. "I love you Diluc." You confessed. "I've been avoiding you because I was scared..I didn't want you to be weirded out by me."
"I could never be weirded out by you." He stated, going down the motorcycle and brushing your hair with his hand. "I was really... hoping you'd come today─"
You hugged him, tight and full of emotions. "I'm sorry!"
"Don't apologize, it's fine." He said, trying to calm you as tear fell down your cheeks.
"I still almost ruined your birthday, I'm sorry-"
"If you're really sorry, then allow me to take you out on a date. Tonight."
You nodded, smiling as you kissed his cheeks. He warmly hugged you, grasping your cheeks in his palm as he hesitantly looked down at your mouth─hint received perfectly, you didn't waste anytime to kiss his warm lips.
