I am rising from the clutches of a r a g i n g chest infection to bring a preview snippet of the next chapter of my vampire Stobonik fic Sandcastle Kingdoms. It’s in the works…slowly, around illness 😅

“Do you see the constellation above us?”

“Yes.”

“It’s one of the main constellations that remains visible even with light pollution. It reminds me of you.”

“Why?”

“Because you are always with me, no matter how dark or bright the scenario seems to be. And you’re beautiful.”

It was the oddest sensation to be looking at his own face in a mirror, but have no true recollection of who that face was. He didn’t know where he was truly from, who “Stone” had been on Earth, anything before that Mushroom Planet.

He did know the scar over his left eye and temple was new. And there was an instinctive feeling in him that he did not enjoy the long hair and long beard combination that was staring back at him now.

As he was turning to the shower, Stone caught a glimpse of a pin on his chest and looked down at it. A red face grinning maniacally with a crazy moustache…it was so familiar and surprisingly comforting to see. He couldn’t grasp why, not quite, but he knew it was important and it was not leaving his possession.
