We wish many qualities upon our kids. I wish for my kids to possess a strong sense of themselves and to be resilient. Admittedly this is a tricky one to develop. It took me a few dark years to refine my own ability to bounce back from rejection, unkind words, and rough treatment. My eldest has been the victim of but also a perpetrator of mean girl antics. I didn’t realize we had to start conversations on consideration and empathy now. But here we are. Raising little humans is a journey.
