1000 Reasons to Love The Mandalorian (9/1000)
I think that people who know Baby Yoda only from the memes and clips with additional music are really missing out... Because the sounds he makes are such a big part of his charm.
For most of the scenes the captions reduce it to “coos” (which is fine, but rather simplified), but honestly... he sounds just as cute as he looks. (Tbh I feel like every director had a slightly different idea about how The Baby is supposed to sound and that’s why he sometimes “talks” like a human baby and sometimes makes some more or less weird noises.)
I would want to list all the adorable sounds he made, but to be fair all of them deserve a separate reason on this list. So to start I’ll mention only three.
1. Chapter 2 [05:03] When Din is trying to repair his armour, The Baby comes to him to heal his wound (for the second time) and makes one of these impossibly cute noises. And I think they used the same sound effect in Chapter 4 [04:23].
2. Chapter 4 [04:51] His little excited “OooOoOoOOooO” when Din scoops him after he pushed too many buttons <3.
3. In Chapter 8 there is this recurring sound they describe in the subtitles as “gurgles”. (For example at [41:26]). It’s adorable and at the same time The Baby sounds like a little dinosaur :D I love it!
