I noticed that quite a few panels in the manga have Red as the shortest despite them all being the same size. Therefore! Cutiepies Red and Shadow Links at your viewing pleasure:)

I don’t think Shadows particularly tsundere so this would be more like. Early post-revival where Red is still winning Shadow over from being betrayed and kinda not wanting to be so close with the Links again…

Hey hey! <3 check out my cowboy Shadow au! 👀👀

A young man itched the purple scruff across his jawline. Dirt all over his skin, smudged on his nose, hair greasy and eyes dark and worn. He was sitting in town, nothing much to do and too much at stake to get up to any trouble. The spring season should bring an opportunity, or at least he prayed so. Shadow had planned this for nearly a year. He had saved up and ran off. Not very far granted, but taking an entire year to save up enough money for a handful of meals and a oneway bus ticket a town over spoke volumes for his past situation. The sun beat down on his tanned skin, but this morning it was refreshing. It was still chilly in the nights for another few weeks, and sleeping in the alley had been less than pleasant. He sincerely hoped his grungy state would not deter any job offers. It was wishful thinking. The sound of a horse trotting into town slowing to walk made his ears perk up. Shadow looked from under his black stetson as a well cared for mare strode proudly onto the cobbles.

He watched a blonde man ride in like he did every day. Shadow could tell from a single glance he knew exactly how to ride that horse and had since he could toddle. He tied her up and posted a little paper on the local square's community board. He perked up as the man walked away to conduct other business in town. Shadow read his two favorite words, his prayers to the Goddesses heard: “Help Wanted.”

A Mirror's Shards

Chapter One ᯓ

It's been about a week after Shadow's sacrifice and we sealed away Ganon with the four sword.

I had thought I would become one again and things would return to normal.. Well I was certainly wrong. Turns out even though we were one person again, our consciousness.. was still split into four.

Seems the power of the four sword was strong enough to cause an identity disorder, apparently know as Dissociative Identity Disorder, at least according to Vio who did loads of research about this.

Because of this, my mind would be more than one person and it showed. My personality would shift, usually uncontrollably, I would be seen yelling or arguing with the air, and a lot of people thought I was going insane.

'Maybe people wouldn't think we are insane if YOU didn't talk out loud, GREEN' Blue snaps rudely.

'Well, BLUE, maybe if YOU would stop picking FIGHTS WITH EVERYONE it wouldn't lead to me accidentally yelling out loud!' I snap back at him.

'You and Blue argue more than anyone else does, Green.' Vio adds into the conversation.

'SHUT UP VIO NO ONE ASKED YOU!' Blue growls.

'Didn't need to be asked to state a simple fact, Blue.' Vio replies calmly.

'Oh yeah? Well maybe you should-' "ENOUGH!" I shout in frustration before horror dawns on my face as I realize I screamed that out loud, especially judging by the looks a few citizens are giving me.

'There you go again Green. Making us look like a fool.' Blue sneers.

I groan and bury my face into my hand from embarrassment and frustration. There's a long, quiet pause in my brain before someone speaks up again.

'Perhaps.. We should pull the four sword?' Vio suggests carefully, making everyone gasp in surprise.

'WHAT!? ARE YOU INSANE VIOLET!? THAT SWORD IS THE ONLY THING HOLDING BACK GANON!' Blue's voice echoes in rage.

'I know that Blue. But perhaps we could find an alternative way to keep Ganon sealed that didn't require the four sword.' He explains then adds 'Besides, I'm sure it would be less stressful on Green.'

'It would be less stressful.. I wouldn't have to worry about saying things out loud.. Or have to deal with all of you in my head.. But, Vio are you sure about this? What if.. Things go wrong?' I ask hesitantly, unsure of if this plan is a good one.

'I'm sure. Besides, I'm sure Zelda would be pleased to help us. She's been as worried about us as father has since we told them about this.. Side effect.'

I sigh heavily and run my fingers through my hair 'Well.. If your sure.. Let's go find Zelda then.' I agree and start making my way to the castle.

It took about 20 minutes to make our way to the castle, the journey was long but not grueling, though the sight of Castle Town still in such.. Destruction even after a week is always a devastating sight.

Finally after 20 minutes exactly we arrive at the doors of Hyrule Castle. I raise my hand and knock on the heavy doors, after a few moments those doors slowly creek open to reveal the inside of the castle.

Golden and blue tapestries line the walls and some windows of the castle halls, leading up to the throne room where Zelda is sitting. Her eyes light up as we walk into the room and and kneel out of habit and respect for the princess.

"Oh Link, you realize you don't have to kneel everytime we meet, right?" Her voice is kind and gentle, just as it always is. It brings a sense of warmth to myself that I.. Just can't seem to place. Perhaps it's because my feelings about her mingle with the others feelings for the princess, it's rather difficult to tell apart some times.

I smile a bit and rise to stand once more, meeting the princesses gaze steadily. "Apologies, princess. I seem to forget that from time to time."

Zelda simply shakes her head "No need for apologies, Link. Now, what brings you here today? More trouble with the town or hiding away from your father?" She asks with a hint of humor.

I chuckle a bit but shake my head "No I'm not hiding from father, and.. it's not exactly about the town." I begin slowly, trying to place and find and the right words. Zelda leans forward, interested in what brought me here this time.

I take a deep, unsteady breath "Well.. Since I've been.. Having such issues with having a split consciousness.. Vio had.. Suggested we pull the Four Sword once more and find a different way to ensure the darkness stays sealed." I explain, my voice shaky.

Zelda's eyebrows furrow, her eyes narrow just a bit, enough of an reaction to cause me to panic just slightly. She stays silent for an uncomfortably long time before speaking again, more seriously this time. "And does Vio know what could seal Ganon completely? Or know of the consequences for if he escapes the new seal?"

I nod quickly "Yes, princess, he is aware of the consequences as am I. As for what else we could use to seal Ganon, he never specified on anything." I answer honestly but carefully.

Zelda nods slowly, her expression slowly softening "Very well then." She rises from the throne, her dress falls gracefully from the shift of position and she smooths it out carefully before starting walk with measured steps.

Although she never said, I begin to follow her. I knew where she going so she didn't need to speak. As we walked our footsteps echo among the halls and passages we take before we reach the Four Sword Sanctuary.

I step forward slowly, there, is the middle of the chamber, lies the Four Sword. Right where we had left it. The very item that started the root of all these changes. The sword admits a soft glow around it, one that almost feels like a pull.

I walk up to the pedestal slowly before wrapping my fingers carefully around the golden hilt. 'Here it goes..' I think as I begin to pull the sword slowly 'No turning back now..' Vio comments as the sword is pulled from it's resting place.

For a moment the world blacks out, when I open my eyes again the sword is pulled, and the familiar sight of four faces identical to my own flood my vision.

I smile slightly as I see them again "Never thought I would miss seeing four of myself." I chuckle, Red perks, Vio smirks and Blue rolls his eyes "Don't get all sentimental now Green." He grumbles, but his voice surprisingly lacks any anger.

Red however pulls us all together for a group hug "I missed seeing you guys too!! I thought we'd never see each other again.." He whimpers but doesn't tear up, just smiles widely. I chuckle again and ruffle Red's hair affectionately.

"I guess I missed you all too.. Even if your presence is bad my health." Vio comments sarcastically but his eyes betray the subtle happiness he feels. I grin before our reunion is cut short as Zelda gets our attention.

"I hate to interrupt this heartwarming reunion between you four but.. There are more pressing matters at hand." She reminds us and we all pull away from the group hug and straighten up.

"Right, finding a new permanent seal on Ganon." Vio muttered lowly but loud enough for everyone to still hear. His expression dark and serious.

But to our surprise, Zelda shakes her head "No, not that. Something else." She said. My eyes widened in shock 'Something that's more important than sealing Ganon??' I questioned in my head while Vio looks intrigued.

"Your majesty, what could possibly be more important than sealing the demon king?" He questioned.

Zelda turned her gaze to meet Vio's, she spoke calmly but with tension in her voice. "The Dark Mirror."

What about the potential RGB Polycule, or are you not going to explore polyships

Yes......just, yes. lol. I do enjoy RGB Polycule. Honestly I enjoy like, all of them together as well. I find a lot of the time that it really takes only like a well written fic, art, etc and I'm instantly like "I can see it, that's cute". So yeah, I honestly don't mind any of the ships with them. Lmao tbh I had an idea for like an isekai au where shadow gets sucked into like a otome game and he's in the position of the female lead and the boys are his harem hahaha so yeah, I don't mind polyships at all either. Like I mentioned before, it's so interesting to explore the relationship dynamics between each pairing and how it varies depending on the combinations of characters. It can be quite wholesome ngl. 🥰

For the DnD au!

Favorite head cannon for each ship, or at least a few of them? I recall pretty much everyone could be with pretty much everyone, so I'd love to hear abt them

Ooh boy let’s do this!

Red and Vio are twins! So they are very obviously not on this list as a ship.

GREEN/VIO: I love the ship trope of “chubby and short” x “thin and lanky” and this is them. If they cuddle Vio is infinitely more comfortable than Green is because Green is basically holding a skeleton, but he’s ok with that because it’s a cute skeleton

GREEN/RED: These two are the type of couple where one of them is cooking and the other one sneaks up behind them and gives them a surprise kiss and they both get covered in flour

GREEN/BLUE: “are they dating or are try trying to kill each other” why not both? They’re definitely more mild than in the manga, but when they start to argue over something it’s probably going to be a coin flip of whether they’ll start wrestling like there’s no tomorrow or if they’ll make out. Usually it’s the former option and Blue usually wins.

GREEN/SHADOW: the way they get together is Shadow randomly grabs Green’s hand one day, kisses it, says “we’re dating now,” and Green has to take a minute to realize what just happened. He’s fine with what happened, he’s just also utterly baffled.

BLUE/VIO: Brains and brawn duo. They’re sitting on the couch watching some sappy romance movie and Vio steals some of Blue’s popcorn. Blue curses him out. Vio threatens to kill his entire family in retaliation. Blue says “do it, you won’t.” They’re in love.

BLUE/RED: golden retriever x angry chihuahua on steroids

BLUE/SHADOW: these two know everything about each other, they’ve been friends since elementary school. They know each other’s secrets, traumas, and weak points, and they also know what the other absolutely loves. They’re 16 and getting ready to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary.

RED/SHADOW: Red gets told he has scary dog privileges with dating Shadow. Shadow proceeds to correct whoever said that, clarifying that Red is the scary dog. They go on cute little dates all the time, like to the park or mall or to get ice cream. They share a milkshake that they drink with heart shaped straws.

VIO/SHADOW: They’d be the most sappy, lovey-dovey duo in their school, sickly sweet and everything, so clearly in love, as adorable as they can be when they’re both a little scary, and they’d unanimously get voted “best bromance” for the yearbook. Historians say they were quite good chums. Pals. Buddies.
