in all seriousness, thank you so, so much for your kind words 🥺❤️ tomgreg inexplicably got me back into writing - actually consistently writing - for the first time in like 8 years and i cannot overstate just how far the passion and encouragement and generosity of the fellow fans and writers in this little corner of the internet has gone in inspiring me to continue contributing. so thank you. ❤️🥰

omg well i definitely don't read as much greco-roman history as i used to !! in fact the book by joan smith i just finished (unfortunately, she was a nymphomaniac) was the first i've picked up in a few years ;_; so i recommend that one!! fiction wise, a hymn to dionysus by natasha pulley was great, set just after the trojan war. i read anything by that author to be fair but it was really immersive!!

sorry i'm not more help. most of my history reading is modern and world war-adjacent ;_;

Have you ever experienced the death of a loved one?Yeah. My not-related granny died when I was 20, when I was in a bad place, and my great auntie when I was 22 (I couldn’t go see her, and the train broke down so I missed her funeral too…) And then two and a half years ago my grandad died on the 13th of October (I was with him, and my parents made me go to university the next day, I was… broken… It was so horrible I felt like I was going to break apart). My mum almost died on the 22nd (by an insanely lucky coincidence I can’t believed happened, I was there and could phone the ambulance), and then in the early hours of the morning of the 25th my granny (the one I was close to, and loved to pieces) died, just 12 days after my grandad. At the time, my mum was still in intensive care, and had just come out of surgery. Very fucking turbulent time, although I discovered that I can be insanely practical. I guess I just couldn’t face the emotional weight of it - it still feels too close to home. I felt useful putting things in order.

Do you believe in the innocence of childhood? Yeah? I mean, it’s a thing. Definitely. It’s not fair to abuse the naivety, but kids deserve to be innocent for the first few years and just.. come across things as and when, I guess.
