You weren't really shocked when the twins had invited you to the local commoner's carnival. Since the arrival of Haruhi, it seemed the majority of the host club and it's customers regularly visited various commoner's attractions, and one of their favourite places to visit was the carnival. Amongst the flashing lights and the loud music, in midst the crowds and the overpowering smell of popcorn and fresh doughnuts, stood yourself, and the two twins, who had invited you. The three of you were good friends, you were in the same classes, and though you did not visit the actual host club, you all saw a lot of each other. You'd regularly have movie nights and days out, and you enjoyed all the time you spent with them. "Do you like these plushies y/n?" Kaoru called out from a nearby stand. It was your average hook a duck and win a prize stand. "Yeah, they're so cute!" You walked towards them and eyed the various different plushies. "Like you." The twins whispered under their breath. The fact that they liked you wasn't unheard of; rumours had gone around the school, and you as well as Kyouya has dismissed them (for Kyouya didn't want to 'lose business should the customers lose interest in them if they do in fact, have a love interest'). Despite the rumours, you had actually just passed it off as people assuming things because you guys spent a hell of a lot of time together, you had never actually really thought that there could be any truth behind it. Besides, you didn't think Hikaru would even like you like that- wait did you just say Hikaru? Nevermind. The twins didn't know about each other's feelings until recently either. Kaoru had brought it up, and instead of giving himself up so Hikaru could have you, they decided to have a competition. They both wanted you to be happy, and they would be fine with either of them to be honest. They won you many plushies on the stand, and you had decided to give some to a little girl nearby who had won none. The twins smiled at your kindness, before dragging you away to the hammer stall. "I've so got this one." You smirked, paying the fees, dumping the plushies on the stand's table and grabbing the hammer. You nearly tripped a little whilst attempting to pick it up. You finally managed to grip the wooden handle of the hammer and you smashed it onto the hammer plate, sending the small decorated circle to hit the half way mark on the meter. "Woah y/n." Hikaru said, amazed "Somebody's been working on their strength." "Oh yeah." You replied sarcastically "I work out everyday. All day. 24 to the 7." The twins laughed and you stood back as both of them attempted to do better than you. Kaoru landed the highest, much to Hikaru's discontent. Kaoru walked over to the stall to collect his prize, leaving you, watching Hikaru as he sulked for losing. "It's okay Hikaru, it's only a game." "But it's not only a game is it y/n." He huffed "It's a determination of strength and courage and many other things." "All of which you have." "You deserve better." He muttered "You deserve Kaoru." "Huh?" "You're so smart and beautiful, and you're funny and I love you-" The two of you went silent. Hikaru looked down at the floor as he simmered in his awkwardness. You stepped towards him, placing a hand on his cheek to beckon his head upwards to face you. "I was wondering if you would like to go to the cinema some time...just me and you." "What about Kaoru?" "I'm sure he wouldn't mind." You moved your hand so you could embrace him. "I've liked you for a while Hikaru." You whispered "I was just too afraid to say anything. If you don't like me back, and just want to stay friends, I understand." "Y/n. I'm crazy about you." He reassured you, pulling away from the hug "So does this mean we're an item?" "I guess." Hikaru smiled and leaned in, and you took the hint and leaned in also, until your lips touched. Whilst you both snogged each other's faces off, the rest of the group joined Kaoru who was watching from a nearby stand. "Finally." They said in unison.
