What I want to happen
I had a theory for what happened to Pencil in TPOT 19. My theory would be on a basis that One's deals always had a catch, like Gaty's or the ones sent to One's Domain, for example.
Basically, Pencil would actually get sent back to early BFDI, but the catch is that Pencil had her memory wiped. Squeaked clean, no trace of the past. The main reason of this is that since she doesn't know of the future, she would redo the mistakes that got her to where she was in TPOT, thus making the deal for nothing.
I mainly made this theory just because One would most definitely have one more kick on the way out after gaining all of that power.
ohhh my god time loop Pencil. As though she hasn't been through enough!. I like that. Judging by the glitching left by Pencil in TPOT 19, it's safe to say that she was either erased or sent back in time-- so definitely a possibility.
If it is a time loop, if she is stuck unaware, the new question becomes: can we get her back? If we can, she doesn't need to be disqualified. But her disappearing for long enough would likely do that and I'm keeping elimination order the same.
This is all up One's ally, too. They have loopholes in their deals. Honestly, she probably doesn't even need to stick to them, as she proves that she can STRAIGHT UP LIE on her end in TPOT 13.
Meanwhile, those who sign basically lose their rights to their soul. One makes people owe her favors-- or she will force them to act on their end of the deal once the time comes.
She isn't here to play fair. She doesn't mind being dirty to get her way. Ultimately, One wants power and control and the deals get her that. When they don't, she is willing to use intimidation or manipulation. Some deals are with people she thinks have a chance of winning TPOT, other deals are because she sees good leverage, and most deals are just. Straight up to feel in control. At the end of the day, her priority is feeling powerful and getting her way.
Her power trips are a problem. She waited it out with Two, got a sliver of their power, and nearly/possibly killed uncountable algebraliens. When Donut was refusing to sign, One was already feeling frustrated after another failed attempt with Leafy/Firey and she just needed to feel in charge again. She got sloppy both times. The first got her imprisoned and the second got her secret out a little more than she intended.
yk, considering how firey has always wanted to win / wanted dream island, it'd make more sense for him to be the one snatched by one in tpot 13
like, after the storm, leafy and firey emerge from the debris, but leafy goes somewhere else, trying to figure out how to rebuild what was destroyed
that leaves firey alone, for one to just come and snatch him, and make a deal to him (possibly about dream island or something)
OUUUUUUUHH this could work.
Perhaps One going after Leafy is a case of "she'd be easier because she's nice"-- although TPOT 19 clues us in that she was not, in fact, easier. Going after Firey would be a result of One assuming he still prioritizing what he wants over his friends.
Which is where she is wrong. Bringing him in would be a great risk-- but, for her? A great reward.
One is assuming Firey hasn't changed. One has reruns of BFDI to go off of. Leafy and Firey left the public view when BFB ended, planning to spend their lives in a nice little island far off the coast of Goiky.
Leafy going out to gather supplies-- or to fetch something important during the tail end of the storm-- leaves both of them vulnerable. Easy pickings for One.
While Firey can act airheaded, I'm sure he wouldn't take a deal with One.
Firey is independent and argumentative. He doesn't like the thought of owing people, especially a stranger he just met-- a stranger who kidnapped him and is now pretending to be his savior. He sees right through One's facade.
One plays several cards: She saved Firey from the storm. Firey argues that he HAD shelter, he was fine. She offers him a new Dream Island. Firey says he doesn't want it, he already has a Dream Island-- better than the original could ever be.
One tries to sympathize. She tells Firey that she knows the pain of a friend betraying her. She tells Firey about how, after all this time, she can't let go of the pain. Firey calls her petty. One tells him he did the same thing. Firey argues that he's moved on.
"Have you?"
"What-?" Firey pauses, uncomfortable for a split second, then angry. "Yes?? That was nearly a decade ago. We share a home now. We're happy."
"Are you?" One leans in from her seat, eyes sparkling.
"Oh my oxygen... Can you, like, not do whatever that is? Making me second-guess myself?" Firey narrows his eyes. "Better yet, how do I leave..."
One tells Firey that he just has to sign her contract and she'll let him go. He passes up on this and climbs off the couch, now going around and ransacking One's room for a way out.
One doesn't let that go on for very long, using her magic to gently place Firey back onto his seat. She gets right up in his personal space, ticked off, and is about to speak again. Firey promptly shoves himself against her, intending on burning her face.
Ineffective.
Algebraliens are heat resistant, especially ones with strong power. One doesn't appreciate having a bright light shoved up against her eyes like that, but she finds it easy to restrain him as he snaps at her.
The second she released Firey, he attacks her, telling her to LET HIM GO. He puts up a good fight-- but he is in One's domain. She has total control here.
I don't think she can do anything with him unless he signs, so One has no choice but to hold him away in some random area of her domain.
I think things would be similar if I went with Leafy-- although she would crumble and sign if she's locked away long enough. Leafy has a lot of problems with being alone. Lucky for her, 8-Ball will appear shortly after Firey disappears.
Like usual, I want to know what canon does before I make any official moves! TPOT is an ongoing season and Leafy is actively wrapped up in the plot. Somehow.

Canon-compliance means going for the closest I can to the canon origins. This version of One's origins is by far more sympathetic. It will be tweaked to fit in with updated redux lore. If you want more context on that, go watch TPOT 20 out on YT!!
Redux-compliant One is more malicious with a less sympathetic origin; Working with Three to cozy up to Two and get some of Two's power. More information can be found looking up #redux!three, #redux!one, and/or #redux!two. It will also be tweaked to fit in with updated redux lore.
The Other option is for you guys to throw in your two cents-- consider what rewriting One's origins completely would do for the story/the ideas you give!

Three concept stuff! I think everything there should satisfy you!! It explains what happens to xym but. I. Want to babble
One and Three were. Considerably close while they were both free!! Three saw a bestie in One and I'm pretty confident One reciprocated. The only reason One went to the Equation Playground is Three-- who has a connection there, Seven, who's also connected to Two. One lights up when she realizes Two has all of that power and snuggles up to Two.
Look at her, such a good and nice friend to Three and Seven. Two should totally be friends with One. Two is a very lonely person and is very quick to grasp for friends. It is perfect. One manages to socially isolate Two enough for it to have a lasting effect. Their craving for validation and closeness to One makes things work.
(note- the initial plan was for One to introduce Two to the playground but I think this is a lot better!! Two struggles to keep friends but makes them quickly)
Three knows One is plotting and is even IN ON IT!! But hey. When you don't have power and you're suddenly given some shit happens. It is only a sliver but One convinces Two to give her and Three some of their power. It is partly destructive because One and Three don't know how to use it, the other reason it's destructive is because One is going on a RAMPAGE. Three, on the other hand, feels horrible. It's on the Three concept post :]
I'll find a place for Seven I swear. In the plan. They are highly suggestable and may be considered collateral by One. I think Seven either knew and felt horrible and kept The Plan a secret because One and Three are their friends OR was genuinely clueless and just liked having friends.
I don't want to throw this idea out of the door so I may go for it no matter what canon does.l love these four
i saw on a youtube post that gaty and two are confirmed to be brought back and i am SO hyped. i know everyone wants them to get together, but i have a solid theory on why they will. think about the last time an object show had "permanently deleted" characters, ii. now, when two characters who had literally been slow burning for over a DECADE saw each other again, they became canon. is this a stretch? yeah ill admit. will i die on this hill? ABSOLUTELY.

Now, before I break hearts, here's the good news! Two and Gaty become a QPR before TPOT 15! I'd put it roughly around TPOT 11 or 12 when it happened. They get to be joyous with some attachment issues and kinks to work out.
Characters vanquished to the rift do not come back. The rift is literal nothingness. Everything it consumes is destroyed, torn from reality. Gone for good.
Gaty being sent there tore her soul to smithereens. It cannot be rebuilt. She is gone for good.
One knew this. One watched that nothingness nearly destroy reality. That rift is still open, still usable. A carefully planned deal with Gaty and Black Hole maintaining it later, One can easily just. Teleport people right into it.
One knew Two and Gaty were close. One knew Two didn't handle extreme emotions well-- especially negative ones. One and Two were friends once, a long time ago-- if only so she could get their power.
When she kidnapped Gaty, her whole plan hinged on Gaty taking the deal-- and Gaty was stubborn. If Gaty didn't sign, the whole reality would've been erased. Including One's domain. It was a risk worth taking.
Gaty is gone. Two blames themself. Two was so devastated that they projected themself into a blocked off area of their domain, only leaving to eat the occasional meal, rotting in their bed in their hotel. They are growing and in a depressive state.
One REVELS in this. Watching Two's power fade until they are weak enough for One to take it-- although those plans are changed with TPOT 19. That is fine. She will still get her way and she will make Two and Four suffer in the process.
I don't know if she killed the other numbers or just kidnapped them yet-- but either way that's going to just. Hurt Two all over again when they find out. Especially if Eight is dead. Recovering will be a long, difficult process.
