You ever think about how with the spin off revealing that Jack’s not actually the ripper expands things a bit in the context of Ragnarok? How despite every evil thing he did in the name of his desires and seeing the colour of emotions, he’s still able to show kindness in little ways even if he might not realise it himself. Jack is selfish, he’s obsessed with emotions and the work only he can see, he’s a representation of the the darkness justice failed to reach for both the victim and the killer. Yet he’s somehow still kind, he loves nursery rhymes and apple pie, he doesn’t care for if he gets lumped with killings that weren’t his own and despite everything, he’s undeniably human. If Adam represents love, Raiden is passion and so on, then Jack might as well represent the complexities of humanity in all its ugly glory which makes him just so fascinating.
This is truly a fascinating way to look at it.
Even though it might or might not be the authors' intention, it truly does expand humanity's attributes in terms of literacy. Hence why some stories are up to the readers' mind (I forgor the quote but ykwim)
A lot of people on Reddit and YouTube hate the spinoff because it erases Jack's character from being the sigma evil piece of shit to another "deep down a kind person and only kills bad people" killer. I understand the hate though, since the spinoff is going absolutely haywire with the characters and plot 💀 But the idea of Jack not being the real JTR makes sense too actually.

It’s a little hammy, but it made me laugh, anon:
god i understood what they meant but the other day some of the feedback i got from a failed job interview was "try to bring up more examples of your experience in a paid work environment, not voluntary work"
today at the food bank i've packed a 350kg order to go out to a distribution centre by myself, and alongside the donations i've sorted and put away i probably moved about half a tonne of stuff before having lunch and i viscerally hate the idea that my less-relevant anecdotes from an office job months ago have more value to an employer just because i was making minimum wage in the process
I am ECSTATIC to finally announce my finished course! So many have asked to see my process + thoughts + more and I share it all here. I've worked for MONTHS to truly boil everything I know down and I'm delighted to finally release it as a full class :D These are all pre-recorded, so you can watch them like Netflix episodes in any order you want, and as many times as you want!
To save you from a mountain-blab of text, you can check it out HERE!
How did you discover your art style? I like it a lot
Hmm.. I mean, I think It’s less that I discovered it and more grew into it, if that makes sense? Really, it was just taking a lot of things I enjoy seeing in art and slamming them together into a style. I like seeing sort of.. unique and memorable art styles instead of realistic ones, I liked colorful backgrounds instead of lowkey realistic ones, I liked simplistic art. So I kinda just ended up shaping my art in that direction, and as a result ended up enjoying what I was drawing. Admittedly, moving over to lineless had less to do with the appeal of it, and more my fervent and undying hatred for lineart.
There are technically some things I know I can work on (Giving characters more memorable body shapes, and the like). But like.. thats not what I enjoy focusing on, so I don’t.
Really, it was just a result of mashing up aspects I liked seeing in other peoples art, and seeing how I can twist it to be my own thing. I think thats how all art styles are formed, tbh. You see something you like, and you yoink it. Very few people are able to exactly replicate the things they see (and when they can, I think thats actually an incredible talent) However, as a result the things they’re trying to replicate mutate and become their own. All art is inspired by something, ect ect ect.
i swear to god my communications textbook just makes stuff up lmao
Take your time! I don't mind waiting. And you did give me one new myth I wasn't aware of! (The conch shell blowing contest) I knew about the Pallas one, it's gonna be a bigger point in my story in the next book. I have two of those sources so I'll go through them to look into Triton more. And yeah, I figured Amphitrite had the most interaction with him (interesting that she helped solidify his rule, I didn't know that, but it does help with the lore I'm building)
Tbh, it is a VERY small part of the Aeneid. It’s in book IV I think and is mentioned in passing. I only remember it because I absolutely adore the Aeneid, so I read it frequently and the contents remain fresh on the mind for a while. And honestly, Amphitrite’s myths are almost as few and far in between as Triton. Poseidon seems to be more interested in interacting with non-sea spirits in general lol. I know she’s at least mentioned in all three of the sources, so you might be able to find more there? Though I think they have conflicting ideas on who her parents are, so that could pose a problem too. Thank you for your patience! I’m hoping to have it done soon!
