Brushing her fingers under the sangheili-human child’s chin, against her neck, Tora Antwen chuckled softly as she wiped bits of crumbs from her earlier meal away. The young childling Rehza gurgled softly as her mother wiped her jaw, laughing as her four fingers hands clapped together while she sat idly on the stone floor their chambers.

“That’s food and that’s yucky, yes it is,” Tora chided as she kissed Rehza’s head softly, taking a wet cloth to wipe her leathery skin before shaking her head with pursed lips. A glint of amusement was shone in her eyes as the baby babbled and giggled, clawed hands gripping her mothers wrist softly.

Soft hoofsteps alerted the approach of the Arbiter, and the Kaidon of Vadam Keep. Thel ‘Vadam approached his wife and child with a soft look of admiration resting on his face, his mandibles pressed together in an alien sort of smile as his hands found purchase on Tora’s shoulders as she crouched to the ground to care for their daughter.

There was nothing Thel wouldn’t give to stay in this moment forever, happy and content with his life.

I’m caring for my little cousin and felt soft about the idea of Thel and Tora raising Rehza together.
