AAAAND tumblr doesn't want to cooperate.
Happy Reichenbach day, my dear Sherlock Holmes fans! Here are the tissues and there is a new Fae Holmes fic, the one who made me first think of this AU (thank you @fruitviking, it's for you!) and that will possibly make you cry.
Holmes returns from his travels to a changed Watson in a more literal sense than one usually thinks. There's a lot of stuff noted in the notes and it's a bit of an experiment.
Last but never least, biggest thanks to @tyrannosaurusnacks for betaing, loe you all and i hope you enjoy this story!
May the Fourth Be With You! And May It Be With Sherlock Holmes, Especially!
Today, we're talking about the original fandom meaning behind this date and why it's so important. How does a tragedy at a waterfall end up making a detective immortal?
In solemn remembrance of that dreadful contest and its frightful end...
Happy Reichenbach Day!
“I am pleased to think that I shall be able to free society from any further effects of his presence, though I fear that it is at a cost which will give pain to my friends, and especially, my dear Watson, to you.”
At this fearful place, Sherlock Holmes vanquished Professor Moriarty, on 4 May 1891.
PSA: May 4th!
Hello, fellow Sherlockians and Brettians! May 4th is almost upon us!
What’s so special about May 4th? Well, for one thing, it’s Star Wars Day (May the Fourth Be With You).
BUT the Sherlock Holmes fandom has a much older claim on the date, May 4th being the day that Sherlock Holmes and Professor James Moriarty fought at the Reichenbach Falls and Moriarty died.
So, in honor of the day, we will be possibly creating and definitely reblogging some multifandom content! Professor Moriarty stuff (and Eric Porter stuff), FINA, Reichenbach in different iterations, AND Sherlock Holmes/Star Wars crossover stuff! (Is anybody willing to try photoshopping Holmes and/or Moriarty with lightsabers?)
Go forth and create! :)
