au where magnus rejects the family fashion business to be a chemist and happily live his life in a lab somewhere. all his fellow researchers want to know who the dramatic and dapper man is who keeps visiting him.

at first alec, his high powered lawyer boyfriend, perks up because he thinks they're talking about him but then someone mentions how they bet that guy hides a sword in his cane.

alec vows to step up his suit game and reclaim the top spot. poor magnus just wants his dad to stop causing drama so alec will stop mentioning him in bed.
