AroAce Luffy headcanons (sorta)
So I'm not super versed on the aro part of the spectrum, but i am on the ace side, so i know more given that. Ether way, luffy is one of my favorites, and this is one of my own headcanons for him. More so, headcannon style then "story" cause im still trying to figure that part out, lol
Firstly, I'll say that to make this work, im going more so in the demi-romantic/sexual side. I am of the opinion that while he is slightly oblivious, and let's be honest, kinda dumb at times, luffy isn't completely clueless to these things.
Nothing too big here, gender neutral pronouns, fluff/tiny bit of angst, It's a tiny suggestive, but it's not really anything bad, Mabye, a bit of crack cause luffy

Having feelings for this guy would be kinda hard, mainly because he's very obvious when people do like him. Hed likely just assumed your best buds for a while unless you get the courage to just tell him. This can get frustrating when he's constantly hugging you and hanging around you.
If we do go fully on aroace luffy, it'd probably hurt a bit. He'd probably fully ignore your feelings for him or just not notice. It would be more so a one-sided pinning. If you're part of his crew, he likely clings onto you like he does with the others, which could also make things worse
If you confess to him now, he'd just straight up tell you he's not interested, or he doesn't care about that kinda thing
However, if we go more of a demi route and you confess, theres a few outcomes:
The first one is that he just bluntly says he's not interested, just like in the aroace one, which is kinda harsh but not fully unexpected. I don't think he'd mean it to actually hurt you, but he does mainly seem to tell the truth with these things
The second would be where he misunderstands your confession somehow? And it ends up as a kind of "i love you." "i love you too, buddy!" Thing which just gets awkward....
The third is where he's known you for quite some time and has been able to get close enough to develop some feelings. With him, he's a very loyal friend, but in terms of relationships, he's not used to feeling that kind of love, i guess? So it'd likely take him a bit of time to get used to the feeling and figure out what to do with it. It likely does come with confusion and a few questions, but as i said, he's not COMPLETELY clueless. He knows what a relationship is, at least. You'd have to essentially be his soulmate, which in his mind is likely someone who has his sense of humor and can cook. Obviously, he has a bit more to that, such as he'd prefer someone who doesn't manipulate or hurt ithers for their own personal gain
If he were to start a relationship, i do think it would have to be after he became king of the pirates. He doesn't really want many distractions in his adventure when it comes to that kind of relationship. Plus, like i said, he'd have to be very close to you, so assuming you a strawhat as well, I'd give him plenty of time to grow attached. So once his goal was reached, he may be willing to try a relationship. I still see him as a very goofy person even then, so he'd probably still just treat you like his best buddy but with a new title.
Like i said, i dont think much would change when it comes to how he treats you. He's already very affectionate with his crew, so he likely acts the same with you. If you asked, though, i think he'd try to give you a bit more than the others, but it still wouldn't be a big difference. Though if you asked for a kiss... you might end up with the sloppiest wettest smooch in the world right on your cheek.
Given that he's inexperienced, he might ask the others for some advice which likely wouldn't end well, its ether zoro giving him the dumbest awnsers sense they share a brain cell, sanji attempting to give luffy 'gentleman lessons" and getting frustrated, usopp acting like a expert just to not be that, or him finally getting to nami and robin and getting actual advice. That would somehow backfire anyway.
On the side of Ace, i don't think he'd be very interested in that kind of stuff. It's been confirmed that he reacts towards the bath scenes and such due to usopp being there. He just doesn't strike me as the type to be overly active in that area, again i dont think hes clueless,i doubt makima never gave him and his brother 'the talk' he just doesnt care for it. It's just never been something he's been interested in. He likely overheard Shanks talking about it at some point but didn't really care.

Since I'm exploring Mephisto's character and gonna be practicing with him in different posts, I wanted to make this one to help organize some on my thoughts on how his and MC's relationship would go.
This type of post is very useful for me when I am tackling a character or ship that I lack organized thoughts for.

How they got together:
Honestly, this tsundere was giving poor MC whiplash in the beginning.
Though he spoke as if he couldn't care less about them, it was his actions that always confused the human.
It often seemed like he couldn't go a day without talking to them and seemingly would always pop up after after they parted ways from one of the Brothers.
Weirdly enough, the only two brothers he would talk to them in front of was Satan and Lucifer
And around Lucifer, he would be strangely nice to them as he and the Avatar of Pride stared each other down
Only for the other man to depart and any word from MC aims at the nobleman would cause Mephisto to blush and rush away after calling them an insult, usually 'annoying' or 'naïve'.
The demon always seemed frustrated with the human, but MC could also see he was lonely.
The nobleman didn't seem to really have any friends; technically, he saw Diavolo as one, but the prince had faded from him long ago and the man didn't really have anyone else.
And so MC began their arc of being Mephisto's annoying little human, a title that didn't truly take long to go from insulting to strangely endearing.
Feelings were there--they both knew it.
However, it wasn't easy to do anything about them.
Mephisto grew up in an old blood sort of noble family, one deeply rooted in the oldest, most traditional beliefs of their realm.
He grew up being told, worse even, believing that humans were beneath them.
Humans were this fragile young race that demons and angels abandoned long ago. Disappoints with short lives that can't do anything of significance.
And Mephisto believed that wholeheartedly his whole life
But it was hard to keep such views the longer he was around MC.
The human could manage feats that could surprise Lord Diavolo himself after all.
Eventually, he did come to terms inside himself that he no longer believed in such views; that humans could be powerful beings and had so much potential to surprise them all.
After that, the nobleman had an even worse internal struggle: his family.
He knew his parents would be angry with him at best if they were to discover his feelings for a human; even worse...they could be disappointed.
Mephisto tried his whole life to embody his family's beliefs and be the son his parents needed him to be
And so loving MC...made him hate himself.
This was a bad period for the two.
Somedays...MC truly thought he had softened, thought that maybe they could have a future together.
Others, Mephisto was snappy and a bit harsh, though his words always sounded less like insults meant to hurt them and more like words to convince himself to let them go.
Back and forth, hot and cold; Mephisto was king of giving this poor human whiplash.
Fortunately for him, MC was patient and understanding so when he came out a victor from his internal war and Mephisto finally asked them out, the human said yes.
Dynamics:
Okay so I don't really see them as the healthiest of couples.
I definitely think they have the potential to be, but only if Mephisto works on his jealousy and abandonment issues.
After all, Diavolo did abandon and replace him.
Of course, it wasn't a romantic relationship with those two, but still an important one to Mephisto.
He was raised solely to be Diavolo's friend; as a kid, that was his one job and he really didn't have anyone else
So when Dia outgrew him and replaced him with Lucifer, it really left a hole in this man's heart.
He tried to be the perfect friend, but still discovered after years of friendship that he was replaceable.
In all honesty, Mephisto worries the same will happen with MC.
The human is obviously not royalty, but they were beautiful and kind and everyone seemed to love them...
They were an important figure in the Devildom now.
What happens if the day comes when they are no longer interested in him either? Then he'll be thrown away again by someone else he cares about.
This fear is what drives his jealousy which in turn leads him to make mistakes.
At first, he tries to contain himself.
Things like him trying to set a date up with MC just to find out they already have plans with one of the brothers.
He'd pretend to be okay with that, but obsess in his head the rest of the day about how whatever his partner has planned with them is apparently more important than him.
Then he'd hear conversations between them and the brothers, even the other exchange students they see as their friends, leading his mind to worry and twist meanings.
This would slowly escalate to passive-aggressive comments
And eventually top off with accusations of MC cheating on him with the brothers.
He only made this mistake once though because the human expressed clearly to him that they were not go to take their loyalty being slandered, not even by the man they loved
And so they broke up with him.
The scare really helped screw this poor bastard's head on right and he does his best to work for MC's forgiveness, resulting in them getting back together.
His jealousy stays until he works out his issues, but he at least has a better idea of what lines not to cross.
When his issues are worked out, he's a lot calmer in the relationship.
He's still not necessarily a fan of the brothers, but is working through his own prejudices while also having secure trust in his partner to be around whoever they'd like.
At his best, Mephisto is a man who is incredibly respectful of MC, but also affectionate.
You know that story about the hero taking the thorn out of the beast's paws? Mephisto feels like he had a lot of thorns that MC managed to free him of.
He also shows his love best to them through gifts and taking care of them.
Even once Mephisto has worked through his issues, some soft words from MC will do wonders to make him feel loved.
'I love you', 'you're important to me', 'I am proud of you'; all are things he cherishes to hear from them.
Their relationship isn't an easy one in the beginning, but has the potential to be a happy one.

He tries so hard to protect you, but there's only so much that he can do for you. He's not very strong and is hardly capable of taking care of himself.
He does like to pick on you sometimes when he knows that it won't hurt your feelings too much.
Even though he likes to tease he hates when you get scared of something. You both could be hanging out, spending time together when a loud crash or even a human honking their horn will startle you.
You can keep your cool around Megatron with his angry shouting, but as soon as you are alone or with Starscream, you nearly break down.
You're both in a hostile environment, so you always try to stay as close to one another as possible. Especially around Megatron, he weaponises your love, dangling one over the other in an act of manipulation.
You haven't told Starscream why you get so scared and it bothers and frustrates him to no end.
Because sudden loud noises can freak you out so easily, you usually have your audials set at a lower volume than any of the others do.
Sometimes Starscream forgets that you, a big strong mech, gets scared of loud noises and yelling so when he's more screamy, he feels guilty and apologizes in his own way.
He apologizes by letting you preen over him or cuddle him and hold him for as long as you want or when you want. (He never lets you do that)
Sometimes, when a loud noise startles you, he likes to form a protection circle around you, it's not very big considering its just him, but he readies his rockets and paces around you till you feel safe cause he knows it makes you feel better. (Even if he feels ridiculous)
Ratchet
At first, he thought it was a joke. Thought you were just messing around, but after a little while, he started to notice that it took quite the toll on you.
You would become irritable and extra jumpy and reclusive, hiding away for time alone without telling anyone.
Because of your odd behavior, he finds himself watching you closely, observing you to find the cause.
It finally clicks in his processor when he sees you flinch from the sound of Bulkhead and Wheeljack's lobbing. He sees your vitals spike like if you were in battle.
He asks you to sit a mission out and stay behind with him so he can scan you for any audial issues.
If he doesn't find a solution that works very well, and because he's really awkward when it comes to certain "issues," he tries his best to be there.
He shows you the best of both sides of himself, a physician, and a boyfriend.
He likes making sure you're doing your best and showing you the ins and outs of his work so you can start learning how to do it. (So he can keep you close)
When you're having a moment, he does what he can to deescelate your fear and panic.
He loves you very much and only wants to keep you safe, even from yourself.
You have your safe space, and he has your quiet reminder to try not to get too worked up.
Bumblebee
Of course, he notices right away that something is wrong but waits until he has you alone to try talking about it.
You don't feel like you can, but he sits with you and holds your hand.
You're taller than him, but, like Starscream, he will spring into action and try to protect you.
He is always reminding everyone to try not to make too much noise.
He acts more mature for you and starts doting on you just a little more than you think he should.
He likes to make sure that you're doing okay, always asking if you need a break or anything.
You guys go for long, quiet drives with Raf, some soft music on.
Though you absolutely love cloudy and rainy days, the thunder really freaks you out, so if there's lightning on the horizon, he takes Raf home and then takes you back to base.
You cuddle with him, your audials turned all the way down, only able to feel the vibrations and Bee's own frame pulsing.
You always take good care of him on the battlefield. The least he can do is take care of you when you're fighting your own battles.
He has his own triggers, and you have yours, and no matter what, you're always there to keep each other from drowning.
Similarities with all of them (still separate relationships)
You're a power couple, and you balance each other perfectly.
You guys will fight someone for each other, them especially.
If they can, they try to help you overcome your issues and relieve you of the stress.
They know where all of your hiding places are, so if you try, it was in vain.
They know you try looking strong in front of the others but please take it easy.
Megatron/Optimus, try keeping you at the base/nemesis because of your "disability," even if you are one of their best assets in the field, so you're probably a medical officer like Ratchet or Knockout, a communications officer like Soundwave, or scientist like Shockwave. Maybe even an engineer.

Doesn't matter if you weren't assigned together-he will be working with you.
He knows you can defend yourself-he's seen how you fight, but he's still protective of you.
His past general instincts kick in whenever he's in the middle of a fight with you- even if it's just the two of you.
He laughs a little, when he tells you the story of why he joined the Shadow Decree. You were so livid, and pissed, cursing him out with some very unique words it made him smile in the sense that you both shared the same anger.
He actually had to break the news to you that Nickolas was already dead because you had gotten up and about ran to find him.
Yeah you were still upset.
Xuan Pin would've probably been there, playing against Mateo in a game of chess, and the story would kind of just flow and get told during that time.
One of the things you said was: "How dare he frame my daughter!" "[name] I'm not related to you-" "I don't care I already signed the adoption papers." "The what-?"
So yes, you and him are like- practically parental/older sibling figures to Xuan Pin. (Even though she's an adult.)
WANDERER (NON-ESPER)
Stargazing dates. Often caused by you because you pay attention to the small things. As someone who is "powerless", a human, you focus on the smaller things.
The stars, the moon, the sun in a cloudless day, a flower blooming in the cracks of stone. It's just a thing you two have where you point out something so simple and marvel at at while he looks at it with you and at you.
He will purposely choose missions that will correspond where you are going.
You aren't an esper, and respectfully, not as physically strong as someone who is one.
So he will protect and defend you with his life because even though you can fight decently, you don't have much resistance.
You don't have god-like powers running through your veins. You're just human.
It's enough for him, but it won't stop him from worrying about your well-being.
You also worry about him with how much he worries about you.
When he's working inside his office, you bring him food and stuff. Making sure he is taking care of himself as well.
When he told you about Nickolas did, you you quiet. Then you rummaged in your bag and pulled out a lighter. "[name] why..?" "To burn the rest of his corpse." "[name] no-" "[name] yes."
He makes sure you don't have a lighter in your bag from then on.
GENERAL
He doesn't talk much, but he listens.
If you are a talkative person he'll listening to you rant about whatever and he'll remember it all.
If you don't talk very much, he'll take note of your actions and pay close attention to the words you speak so he can recall it later for future reference.
Strong but silent type.
He's intimidating but a softie for those close to him. He's the big spoon, sometimes, sometimes, he will be the small. But when you wake the roles have already switched.
There was a point where you attempted to cook food over his eye/hand fire. You were able to make some s'mores-barley.
He loves quality time. Just being in your presence is enough.

Ralof:
Once in an official relationship Ralof will gift the Dragonborn a necklace, a symbol of their love. He will request them to wear it so that no matter how far apart they are they’ll always be together. Ralof got a matching set and wears one himself, often holding it when he and the Dragonborn are separated.
He loves to be close to Dragonborn and get as much physical contact as he can. He’ll hug them, hold their hand, brush their cheek. Anything and everything, he just cannot get enough of the Dragonborn and wants to touch them all the time. His favorite past time is laying in bed with the Dragonborn, running his fingers gently over their skin.
His favorite type of hugs are big bear hugs where he’ll just crush the Dragonborn into him.
Once the war is over, he wants to build the Dragonborn a house, somewhere to raise a family (preferably not in the snow). He wants lots of children so is planning on it being a large house.
He understands the Dragonborn is a very busy and powerful person, and that they need to leave often and for long periods of time. But Ralof misses the Dragonborn and wishes they could stay with him instead. Although he’ll never say anything. He would never stop the Dragonborn from their destiny. He will wait for them to return and just ambush them with love when they do.
He tries to make their home nice a presentable for the Dragonborn’s return. He cleans, make sure the kids are taken care of, and tries to cook a meal for the Dragonborn. But he is a terrible cook, the most he can make is just cooking a piece of meat. But the Dragonborn will still eat it no matter what.
Really good at hair. If Dragonborn wants a new hairstyle or wants it all in plaits, Ralof will rush to their side and produce a beautiful new hairdo.
He likes to show off his strength by just picking up the Dragonborn and carrying them around. He loves it because he gets to hear the Dragonborn laugh and he gets to be close to them.
He is a jealous type. If the Dragonborn has a follower that is not him he will feel very jealous and not be happy about it. He will tell the Dragonborn how he feels and hopes they will lose the follower. Ralof wants to be the only person in the Dragonborn's life.
He's a great singer and will often sing love songs to the Dragonborn. If the Dragonborn is away, he will sing or hum 'The Dragonborn comes' until they return.
Hadvar:
He isn’t the type for public PDA he thinks affection should be kept to private areas. But once the Dragonborn is alone with Hadvar he goes all out on showing affection. He will cuddle, kiss and caress like there is no tomorrow.
He feels so guilty that he almost sent Dragonborn to their death when they first met. He knows it wasn’t really his decision but he still feels like he should have fought harder to save the Dragonborn at that time, so he spends so much time trying to make up for that fact. Most often he does this by telling the Dragonborn how much he loves them and how he thanks the gods every day for them, and says how lucky he is to have them in his life.
He loves to give the Dragonborn gifts. He tries to give them flowers everyday but he’ll also gift them clothes, jewelry, or special armor he got made to keep them safe on their travels.
After the war he wants the Dragonborn to live with him in Riverwood where they will get married and build a house together. He’d like to have children but two are his max.
He knows the Dragonborn is very busy, but he will often voice how much he wants them to stay. He hates how long they are gone, and tells the Dragonborn he wishes they would stay or at least come back more often.
Hadvar is a brilliant cook. He always has something new and delicious for the Dragonborn to try when they are home.
When the Dragonborn comes back from a long trip Hadvar will embrace them in a hug first, then pull back enough so he can rest his forehead upon theirs and whisper how much he missed them.
He is the first to wake up. But he’ll always stay in bed with Dragonborn and just enjoy their embrace, he tries to enjoy as much of their presence as he can before they leave. Then after the Dragonborn wakes up he will make them a filling breakfast to start the day.
He does not get jealous. He knows the Dragonborn loves him. If the Dragonborn brings a follower home, Hadvar will welcome them in and ask them to stay for dinner.
He likes to write and will often write letters and love poems for the Dragonborn then send them via courier. He hopes his words will bring comfort and joy to the Dragonborn while they are on their travels.
