To All The Boys I've Ever Dated Before : A Secret Behind Truth.

“Um.. Hi?” Jaemin asked, your foots freeze to the ground, what should you say at this point? Should you be mad? No.. It's not like Jaemin is Renjun, should you feel sad? No.. Unlike Chenle, Jaemin still is the bad guy, should you feel remorse? No. Unlike Jisung you didn't owe him any apology.

So why should you talk to this man? the man that left you alone in your apartment at 5 am in the morning after a break up text?

You hold dear your paper bag, Jaemin saw what you are going to do, so instead of standing on your way, he takes the hint and leave, he thinks it's for the best, because your snarls look like you can snapped his neck any moment, so he retreats.

“Let's talk sometimes later.. If the time allowed us.” as he left you alone in the cold night, at least unlike your other exes, he knows when to leave you alone.

You take another step, walking in the path to your home, as you reach there, your knees weak, your eyes empty, there's no words that could come out to your mouth, karina, winter and yangyang were shocked to find you look lifeless on your doorstep, this past week clearly are the tiring.

The day after wasn't as much pleasing, your lectures suddenly asked every each of your class members to go visit an exhibition held by your lectures favorite students, you like exhibition actually, but after what happened yesterday the idea of going somewhere else than staying at your bedroom and wasted your time on a games and drowing yourself in beer, like an unemployed seems very gullible for now.

The exhibition actually held quite close to the campus, and it's actually closer to your apartment than you think it would be, you walk past the convenient store that you visit yesterday.

“Everybody pay attention, I want to introduce you guys to my favorite students from the photography major, Na Jaemin.” states your lecturer as he introduced the guy next to him, the one that you run away from yesterday night.

At this point should you even be surprised? The past week you have been running away from your exes, if all of them just suddenly showed up to your doorstep you wouldn't even be surprised at this point.

You lied of course, you would still be shocked, but not surprised.

“Hello everyone, i'm Na Jaemin, Sir Kevin, actually are my lecturer too in Photojournalism class that we as photography sometimes take, it's such a pleasure to be here to introduce my artworks to you guys.” Jaemin continued, as he ended his speech everyone start scattered around enjoying the artwork that Na Jaemin photograper took.

You look at the every each of the picture, and potrait, everything seems to be taken in a point of view of someone clearly in love, stated at the title of this exhibition actually, ‘Lingering Feeling Of The Past.’ you wonder who the muse for it, but they more you thought about it, you don't want to.

You know who it was, it wasn't you, that's for sure.

“I didn't know the one who held the exhibition today was Jaemin,” karina concern, as she whispered next to you, you shakes your head, “No worries, it's not like I didn't expected this.. But you know it's just, hard? Seeing your ex everywhere, kinda scary don't you think?” you spilled, karina nodded, “You met Jaemin last night didn't you? Is that why you look so terrified?” this time you didn't know how to answer.

“Yeah, I don't know.. Among all of the exes I had, I felt more confuse by Jaemin more than anybody, like something deep inside me scared of seeing him again?” you confessed, karina tried to console you by rubbing your shoulder, like a patting on the back.

“Are you afraid of something?” you contemplating for a bit, you are scared but why? Is what you would often ask yourself. “You know, i have a lot of fear, I'm afraid of heights, afraid of spiders, afraid of seeing people from the past, but it's not the fear that I can't handle, it's the thought of having to faced it first is what haunting me, like a nightmare that I often have to went through first before I fell deep into my consciousness.” you explained, it is true, you didn't care about the fear by itself, it's the thought of having to facing a fear is much more disturbing for you.

The way everything just found the perfect time to fit, it's like the universe were trying to set you up for something, and you don't know what it is, should you feel scared? What do other people do in this scenarios? That's the kinda question you asked yourself everyday in the morning.

As you look around the empty halls, and the artwork being hang on the walls, it's Jaemin’s someone you knew from the past, but everything seemed so unfamiliar, like watching your childhood movie and found a part you never remember before, some sort of mandela effect that you brain tried hard to solved, but remains unsolved, that's how Jaemin felt to you, he just seems like this mysterious people in your life that you never get to explore.

But one thing that is clear is Jaemin’s artwork, his photos, if eyes are the souls to someone heart, then Jaemin's eyes are the camera lenses that he used to take every picture that he showcases in this beautiful exhibition, every picture seems like it belongs to someone, someone you never met, but recognize.

“How do you like the exhibition?” Jaemin whisper lowly standing next to you, you startled and almost fall back to the ground, your eyes wide open, “You should never do that! What if I fall?” you furiously nagging him, he smiles away as a response, before reached out his hands for you to take, you didn't take it instead you stand on your own.

Jaemin look dissapointed but pull back his hands nonetheless, he knows you don't want to see him this very moment, but the idea of your figures in front of his are exiting enough for him, “Hi Karina, do you like the exhibition?” Jaemin change his questions to another person in the rooms, “It's beautiful, as you always do Jaemin..” Karina compliments, Jaemin seems very pleased.

“Mind if I talk i have private time alone with Yn?” Jaemin looks to Karina, as much as Karina wants to stay, she felt like both of you needs to solve this misunderstanding, so she walks away, leaving you alone at the corner with this man you used to spend a time with, you clicked your tongue in displeased, why does this man want anymore? Jaemin look at you with sorrow, you hate that looks, he seems to be pitying you or something.

“Don't look at me with pity, it's annoying.” you irritated, he nodded and changed the topic, “How's your life?” he asked, you respond shortly with a “Fine.” he tried to asked another question but cut short by none other than his friends who also works as his assistant, “Wait Lia. I'll be there in short.” as he answered, he looks at you “We should talk sometimes later.” and then he disappears in between the crowd.

You walked to another section, and found another secret compartment in this exhibition, you enter inside and found the lightning for this corner are different than the other, it's pinkish with a gradient of violets your eyes trembled at the translucent sight, there's six pictures and every each one were reminded you of one thing clear.

On the other side, Jaemin and his assistant Lia, had a talk in front of the gallery, “That's the girl isn't it?” Lia addresses the topic, Jaemin shocked to how Lia quickly catch the hints, as he beam in response, “You think so?” he chuckled, Lia continuing her questions knowing that she is totally right, “She had the same hair ties as in your picture, you know the one in the translucent room? The girl in that picture you took were her.” she added, Jaemin nodded, “Haha, you are so very correct.” Lia look at Jaemin and the sudden sad look he had on his face, “Then why didn't you tell her? That you still think about her? I see how you view her Jaemin, it's different than your uhm.. Other exes, she might be not in the picture, but she never left the frame.” Lia acknowledge, Jaemin stand there silent, “Maybe some secrets would be better than some truth?” Lia could only shake her head as a response.

On the contrary, you walked outside the exhibition, what was that?! Your head fuzzy from all the confusion, is this Jaemin way of mocking you? Is this one of his schemes? You don't know, you need to get your head out of it, you opened your phone, asking for Winter whereabouts, she replied saying she is the middle of band practices, and apparently winter band would be collaborating with another band, so you decided to go to the place, it was in music faculty of your campus, when you reach the room, your hand hesitated to open the door.

But you did anyway, and there is Winter, and Giselle both of them are in the same band, you remember it is for a event held by the campus and Winter being a great guitarist and Giselle decided to join, Winter band actually form not only with both of them, but the two member are actually on a band break, so they decided to collaborate with another band, when she introduced you to the band, you see familiar faces like Johnny, and when she introduces who the vocalist would be, that's when your pupil starts to shrink, as if it identifies a danger within reach.

“He is the Vocalist of NY Band, Lee Haechan.” Giselle introduces, your body froze, even the idea of hearing those names again causing shiver down your spine.

“Haechan.. Hi? Yn..” Your voice low, almost like grumble, he smile, you heard a crack deep inside your neurons brain, he smiles? Smiling? Did he enjoying this? “Haechan, hi Yn!” he seems excited, too excited to your liking, you hate those smirk, he always seem like he had knife under that jacket, those stupid leather jacket he always wear.

Your eyes twitched in discomfort, clearly not enjoying the view in front of you, Johnny tried to scold the guy next to him, but he just shrugged it off and grinning stupidly, “Btw.. I saw your thread, I'm sad that you think that lowly of me you know?” he tried to masked off his guilty by gaslighting you.

That ain't working anymore.

“Oh, I wonder why?” you grinned sarcastically, he pick off the sarcasm quite fast, “You could have say I was quite a good boyfriend at least.” he smirked it off, he probably thinking it's some sort of jokes you are playing but you aren't here to play, you walked away from the argument, there's no winning with that one arrogant fucker, so you decide to just watch them practice, it was going great, you hated at how good Haechan voices were, with how it fits Giselle you think if Haechan wasn't a jerks you would marry his voice individually.

In the middle of his singing his eyes found you, as he send you a wink as a signal, you shrieks, is he trying to charm you? No fucking chance.

The practice went well, you squeeze yourself at the back of the room, you wish you at least have a cigarette, but you don't even smoke, you need a strong liquor to hold you, you can't handle this man sober, talk about the devil, the Lucifer shown himself, he found you, as he beamed, you hate those idiot smiles he does when something stupid is up in his head, “Fell for me already?” he chimed in confidently, as if! Even in your wildest dreams you wouldn't think of it.

You can't handle his ass as you excused yourself, tonight you need to numb your head from all this annoying ex up your arse.

Winter followed you outside, as both of you went back to your units, Yangyang and Karina were already there, “I need alcohol!“ you shouted the first thing when you just came back home, both of them taken aback by the sudden information, “It's one of her stupid exes again..” Winter inform, Karina shook her head, Yangyang already typing on his phone, “Get ready ladies, I just book us one of the fun club on the whole campus! JohnYC!” you jump in excitement, JohnYC Is actually Johnny Cousin's Bar, and it's quite famous, so you quickly running towards your dresses tonight was going to be your wildest arch of your life!

On the other side of the line, especially in the JohnYC bar, sitting alone at while drinking his vodka, a tall figure with a beauty mark under his eyes, scanning the crowd around him, until another person came and disturbs his perfect alone time, “Jeno, when will you enjoy the bar?“ Jeno clicked his tongue, “This bar had been very boring lately,” he remarks, his friends on the other side smirked, “Oh, what happened mister charming? I suggest a bet?” his friends replied, Jeno eyes fired by the suggestion, “What Bet?” his ears perked.

“Easy, how about one night stand with the first person that entered through that door?” His friends suggesting, Jeno never backed down from the bet, “Bet, keep your 100 dollars bcs its going to be mine.” Jeno grinned.

You were eyeing the exterior of the bar, and it awwed you so hard, you wish you came here fast, you couldn't handle your energy as you ran towards the enter door, your friends followed you from behind, you showed the guard your IDs, and when you are allowed to be inside you squeal a bit, you missed this life.

As soon as you entered the door, an eagle eyes caught your presence, Jeno grinned turn into sour, he would never thought it's you of all people, when you found the naughty eyes that eyeing you, you couldn't be more brazen.

“Fuck.. Another one?!” Jeno looks at you clearly not enjoying the situation, how the hell he supposed to win the bet if the bet were you? Of all people. “I'm not going to win this one..” he whispered, clearly hated this idea even more.

You wail, your life genre had turned from a comedy romance to horror within a single week alone, what happened the next month? And a year? This isn't going to be a fun ride, but hey fastening your seat belt, because the roller coaster of this whole chaos just started and you are at the front seat watching this all played out.

To All The Boys I've Dated Before : Romcom Drama.

“So uh.. How are you?” you asked, he looked at you glaring, like he ready to pull your hair out any minute if he wasn't so patient. “Shut up, you just got lucky.” he spat.

Well, what happened was Jisung agreed to do mentoring for you, because apparently Jay is Jisung cousin, and he is a good dealer.

They had a few talk about how Jay are going to let Jisung stay at his house on summer because Jisung doesn't want to go home during summer to do his chores.

“You look same as always..” you tried to be friendlier, he shot another glared your way, “And you are still annoying as always.” he responded.

You take a breath, he really get on your nerves, and the thing about Jisung is that he could bother you more that will make you lose your mind in the process, you wanted this mentor tutoring to happen but didn't want to make this any hard for the both of you, you sighed and take a long breathe.

“I know you hate me as much as wishing a bold striking me right at this moment, but I needed to do well on this exam that way I can at least get a B from the other C’s in my grades, can we just try to be at peace at least while you do my mentoring? It's just 3 hours not more than we agreed upon.” you claimed, he look at you hesitating if he should agreed on that and move on, but Jisung felt like he couldn't just forgive you that easily.

At least not for now, you need to be punished by law, but because law are too expensive for Jisung, he considered if he should just take this matter into his own hands, and he had just the right amount of plants to make you suffer but without actually doing it.

You see.. The thing about Jisung is that, when he hated someone, he will do revenge, and not in a very ordinary way, he makes Jay drink herbal tea when he broke his favorite rocket toys, causing the poor boy to sneeze for the entire day, the worst scenario of that is that Jisung also had allergies to specific flowers and herbals, both of them spend the entire day coughing and sneezing making both Jisung and Jay parents to agreed to separate the both boys and make their own rooms in each house.

From that moment on, Jay never messing up with Jisung again, even just the thought of stepping into Jisung bedroom feel like walking on land mine one wrong footstep and he's all name no body.

Jisung enjoy the idea of revenge and suffer, even if it means he get to be suffered too by his own evil plans, he will accept it without much thoughts that's just to prove what kind of evil he was.

And he already had his plans planned out, you sitting there watching the boy thinking inside his minds while some times laughing and giggling into thin air like he is in some kind of romcom drama or something.

You knew jisung well, and you knew the boy already had something worse plan in his minds, the next months gonna be though, for you, Jisung too, but he take pleasure on that.

The next weeks were nothing but hell, he make sure to make you do as he told you too, he even made a list and make sure to put the notes on your notebook, and you have to do whatever he said on it, like he is some kind of boss and you are an intern who can't do anything under his supervision.

But you aren't so sure if he meant to make you feel intimidated by his demands notes, it only make you laugh and giggle everytime he laughed.

It's cute, and he still had the same those worms-like writing, and that's what you found adorable, he is still a big baby at some point, and even some words aren't make any sense into your mind but it's Jisung, what else can you asked for?

The notes itself isn't that much of a deal, it's the list inside the notes that break the camels back, you always late for every meeting because you always had to bought chocolate milk by a specific brand in a specific convenience store.

And when he said he wasn't wrong he actually mean it, like one time you were doing your math assignment he keeps bugging you with random facts in the middle of tutoring session, and you must answers the most brain-scrapping riddles that sometimes doesn't even have anything to do with maths, well is that maybe his way of teaching you how to physics?

Nothing more annoying than having to stay at his unit and play games with him.

Like you are right now, your hands on controller as he play with his tongue sticks out focusing solely on the game, “Is this even fun?” you asked, he gasped look at you with full shock, “This is so fun? You don't like it? You see those fun airplanes shooting enemies? That's fun af.” he voiced as he went back to the game, like nothing happened.

He looks you didn't enjoy it as much as you do, he put down the controller, “Let's have a walk instead?” you raised your head, is this his another way to take revenge? Apparently not, he just showed you around the neighborhood, as you both enjoy a nice afternoon, “You love daisies?” he asked you nodded, he plucked some of them from the bush, on the park near his apartment and tucked them comfortably behind your ears.

You smiled, he isn't so bad you thought.

And then he started patted your head making your hair a mess, you sulk as he run away, “You can't catch me!” he shouted cheerfully as he run, his long legs help him reach far than you.

That afternoon the rest of the tutoring session turn into this some kind of weird play date, no hard feelings, no anger towards each other, no arguing.

It's peacefully calming and cozy, you went home to found your friends, Karina, Yangyang, and Winter on your bedroom, they were talking about something when you interrupted as you sit next to Karina, “Hey wifey, how's tutoring session went?” she asked, “It's.. Fine, oddly.” Winter senses a concern on your words, “What do you mean? Is that kid picking a fight on you? I will throw hands.” you giggled, calming her down, “Nothing, he had been nothing but kind actually, we play games..” you were explaining your play dates when Yangyang cuts you, “You hates playing games, you never said yes to my invitation to play?” he sulks.

“Hear me first, we were. But suddenly he had a change of heart, we decided to take a walk to a park, we playing tag your it, we sightseeing, and he even give me this daisy.” as you pointed at the cute daisy sitting finely on your ear.

“You had a date? Awww..” Karina awwed, you shakes the thoughts away, “No? We just tried to be friendly, at least that's what I get from him.” you dodged the bullet, and start thinking of another topic, “Besides why don't you guys teach me how to do math?”

“Baby, we don't know any shit about math, we can't even do a simple equation,” Winter answers, Yangyang felt bothered by the thought, “We know math?!” He states. Winter look at him doubtful.

“What's 4+4?” Yangyang thinks for a while, “44!” he answers gleefully, “That's a simple mistake, everybody will do that sometimes,” Karina tried not to be mean, “What Red and Yellow make?” Winter asked again. “Rellow!” he shouted.

“See?” Yangyang just proved Winter point.

Well at least we know Who we shouldn't ask for math tutoring next time..

You laughed at Yangyang and his unpredictable mind, he looks at you offended, “Why are you laughing? At least I'm not the one who asked her own ex to tutor me?” he added, well now that just cross it.

Well sometimes you wonder if you should even let this ticking bomb said a words, but what can you do? He is your friends at the end of the day, you spare him another day, because today you feel nothing but content, nothing could annoyed you for today!

1 hour later..

You shouldn't have speak too fast actually, because this man in front of you just prove, you should be careful what you said, because God know, your day isn't completed unless you see a face of someone you wish you never see, especially the man in front of you this late at 11 Pm is the reason why you had trust issue in the first place. That someone who are incredibly perfect isn't suited for this messed up little world.

“Hi?.. How's your life? Yn..?” His voice full of concern, you want to punch your midnight craving, who thought it's a good idea to go to inconvenience store late at night, especially right when you passed an exhibition that are being held.

Your walk to your campus were faster than you thought, well all those run marathon you do when you found out your ex found your thread on twitter had it own virtue, as you sat next to Giselle, Karina waves at you you smiled, Giselle look at you worries why do you sweat a lot, she thought.

“You okay babe? Why do you sweat too much?” she asked while wiping off the sweat from your forehead with a tissue, you smiled at her. “Aww, totally fine, It's probably because I ran here.” you answered she sighed relief, Karina smiled and giving you a bottle of pocari incase you thirsty.

Ryujin came late and look at you, as she gives you the sweetest smile, “My queen looking a bit too beautiful today? Did something good happen?” she asked sitting down next to Karina. “She met her true love.” Karina added teasingly.

“Nah, don't say that!” you nudged her shoulder as you laughed at her teasing, Ryujin smiled and winked, “Oh, girlfriend I thought I'm the only one? You cheating on me?” Ryujin add more fire to the pit, you pinch her softly, “Not you too babe! Besides I told you, you the only girl I had.” you remarks, she grinned from ear to ear. “That's my baby.” she complimented.

The lecturers came into class causing a stir in the class, everyone were already seated, you sat next to Karina and Ryujin, the lecture take time to gave out materials before at the later parts of the class he explains there's gonna be a group projects, the group project will be making a short movies about the campus life, after he explains the assignment he left the class, everybody were scattered searching for their group partner.

“So.. Our group partners are the three of us and.. Kai and Sunghoon?” Karina pointed out, three of you walked to the guys, they both smiles at that, Kai were nothing but sweet, and Sunghoon too he is a very smartest one in class this going to be easy!

Two hours later..

It's been two hours, yet no sign of what kind of film you guys are going to produced, no script in sight, who knew writing a script for a simple short films gonna be so hard.

You wanted to cursed yourselves. “Who should we asked for this script?” You looked around the table, everybody sighed, “Anybody knew someone who is good at writing scripts?” Kai asked, Karina and Ryuji shakes their head at the same times.

That's when Sunghoon came to rescue, he typed something on his phones, after a moment he showed the text on his phone, someone is agreeing on helping them to write script, and apparently that person is available and in need of collaboration for his assignment too, somehow in your heart you felt a tingling sensation.

Something big is going to explode, you knew. But what?

Turns out your instincts were right, here you are in the middle of the room, sitting across a very familiar faces, you tried to averts your eyes, but his eyes were staring you down, following every move you take, every scribble you do, every breath you take, every simple action you make. He make sure to catch that.

“So let me introduce him, he is my good friend from creative writing major. Mark Lee.” Sunghoon introducing, Mark. You never expected you will see him again, the first and the one you wish to be your last. Your first ex, the one that introduce you to love, hurts, and affection.

Mark waves, smiling happily from ear to ear, he look at every each one of you until his eyes landed on you, and never leave ever since.

“I'm Mark, from creative writing major, and I will help you with your assignment of making short film script as the script writer.” he said.

He looks exactly the same as he used to, messy hair, that same round glasses, the only thing that different are his uniform, other than that nothing change much.

Besides, why is this the only place that Sunghoon came up with, his apartment? Among every good place ini this city, Mark place?

Everything went well until suddenly they left you alone, in living room alone, with Mark there.

“Kill me..” you muttered under breathe, he looked at you trying to start a conversation.

“Hey.. How are you?” he finally muttered a courage to asked you, you look at him.

“I don't know, why do you care?” you spat, you want to be one of those people could stay calm when facing their exes, but you can't.

Mark among every other exes you had? Well not that you wished any of your exes came back to your life again, but why still, why him?

It's been, who knows? Like years! You never see him among all those years why the first person you shared everything with is here, across you eyeing you with his big eyes and baggy clothes.

You missed the glasses, those round glasses bring you a lot of memories, how he always smile every time the glasses dewy from the hot cocoa he loved to drink, or how he grinning after reading a poem he made, the guy that everybody misunderstood are so cute and sweet, people just never takes time to understand him.

Now he looks happier, at least that's what you thought. He doesn't look like someone who had so much thought in his minds like he used too.

“Yn? Did you heard me?” he brings you back to reality, you didn't hate him to be honest, you were immature to think every first love would ended happy, there's only two answers, either he left, or you. Well you weren't.

He still sit across you, “I'm sorry.. You know, I was immature back then..” he tried to reasoned with you, you sighed. “It's okay Mark, you don't need to explain anything.“ you cut him off, stopping him from giving you reasons, you don't want to heard any reason from his mouth, what if the reasons were sad? And make you pitied him? You don't want to pitied him, he hated that. Mark hated the idea of being pitied, more than anything.

Mark look at you, he stopped, he knew that you knew him, you knew the way he thinks, speaks and acts.

He doesn't want to be pitied, he just wants you to know that whatever reasons the break up, it wasn't your fault, it's not your wrongs, he just had a tough time, the time were messing with him back then, his fear, his inferiority, his pathetic reality takes him from his daydream and struck him harder than he thought he could handle.

He stopped trying, he looks outside, the sun light were dawning on you, the silhouettes from your figures projecting behind you.

He missed the time where he would read books, spend days with you, playing games and just basically enjoying times, now here he is, with you, and the space in between both of you.

Sunghoon back with the team, the discussion takes more time before its finally decided who to works on the script, and you and Mark are on it. without you noticed a small smile creeped out from his lips, it's too subtle for you to see.

“Alright, I promise I'll do my best.” he cheered, you grunts. This going to be such a hassle for you.
