Hey friend. Your gifs are so crisp and pretty. What do you use to get such fantastic quality?

Hey! Thank you so much, this is so lovely of you to say :D

I make all my GIFs in Photoshop CS6 so that's what everything will be referring to here. I'm kinda assuming a basic knowledge of gif making here so let me know if you need more lol but there are so many great tutorials already, this is just my basic settings.

I record my clips on PC to start with, using the Nvidia recording... thing.

I've seen a few methods of importing frames and idk if it matters but I use the File > Import > Video Frames to Layers option and import every frame in the section I want.

I do the usual croping and colouring and tbh I have never gotten the hang of knowing exactly what needs to be done with colouring by looking at the gif I just kinda... try stuff and see how it looks.

Basically I am not a fancy giffer lol, I just try and brighten and colour correct as much as I can. This tutorial helped so much with weird coloured or tinted gifs as well.

After I'm like, pretty happy with it, I will convert to a video timeline with this magic button then select all frames and make them a smart object.

Then I go Filter > Sharpen > Smart Sharpen with these settings:

After that I use the 'save' action from 'Rizz's Action Pack' here (the blog appears to have had a name change?) which takes everything and puts it back to frames so that I can set the frame delay accurately as for some reason saving directly from the video timeline doesn't seem to work consistently?

If I'm adding text I also do it here - it is much easier than doing it before sharperning or using the save action (as the latter will flatten the text onto the gif and you can no longer edit it). Also add any further colouring I think looks good.

For exporting as a gif, I've seen a lot of gif tutorials advise that a frame delay of 0.05 seconds is the best but honestly, for KCD2 I've found the sweet spot seems to be 0.03 or 0.04 seconds - at least from the clips I get when I record my gameplay.

About people not tagging AUs, sometimes I'll go through the tag for a relatively small ship that I like. And there's a fic that sounds really interesting and I always wonder why I can't remember reading it. Then I open it and it's a Harry Potter AU. Which is not indicated anywhere in the description or tags. And I forget every time

Nooo D: Oh my god, that's so bad! Here I am complaining about untagged coffee shop or college AUs but at least I haven't come across anything that terrible (yet).

Also, does the author not want people who are after a HP AU to find their fic? Truly baffling behaviour.

Yes Harekr steals 'The Chosen One's' baby and he planned on raising it as his own, with the aim for baby to lead the Jomsvikings one day. Sadly his plans didn't work out x

Lancelot for the character ask!

First impression

Honestly, that he was a little stupid sdfgjkl SORRY. Who devotes their entire life to one goal (becoming a knight of Camelot) and somehow never finds out what seems to be the single most important rule of doing so? Maybe it's my constant need to be over-prepared but the Knights' Code seems, not universally, but at least very well known, weird he literally never found out the first rule.

HE DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER. I will never get over that no one but Merlin and Gaius knew he was a shade and thought he came back to steal betray Arthur then kill himself.

Idea for a story

I’ve wanted to write a Merthur AU of 4x09 for a while, where Arthur knows about Merlin’s magic and is working to repeal the ban but facing resistance so it’s not well known the future consort has magic. Merlin and Lancelot had a very brief one-night stand before he fell for Gwen and he fell for Arthur. Knowing this, Morgana decides to send Shade Lancelot to hurt both Arthur and Gwen. 

However, because Arthur knows about Merlin’s magic, Merlin happily informs him that the bracelet Lancelot gave him has magic in it but he gets weirdly defensive when Arthur asks him what sort of charm. Leading to Arthur, Gwen and Gaius trying to figure out what’s going on. They don’t manage to prevent Merlin and Lancelot kissing and Arthur loses it a bit but Gwen talks him down, reminding him about the magic bracelet. They have to wrestle it off Merlin but as soon as they do he’s like what the fuck and magics Lancelot’s soul back and it’s a little awkward for a while but in the end they all live happily ever after.

I honestly don’t know if I have any? Most people love Lancelot, I also love Lancelot. 

Favorite relationship

Adore his friendship with Merlin. Genuinely think the year between s3 and 4 was probably the happiest of Merlin’s life having a friend who knew his secrets and still loved and supported him. 

Favorite headcanon

None of the new Round Table knights know about his first attempt at being a knight and they think he is a stickler for doing things properly. Then it’ll come up just super randomly one day and he’ll just go ‘ah yes, that time I was arrested for identity fraud’ and every except Leon is like ‘wat’

Hey there! I just wanted to write and say how much I appreciate your Very Correct Opinions on the fandom attitudes toward North vs. Gavin. Because she is multidimensional and he’s a weaselly little rat turd. That’s all. :)

Haha thank you!!! It’s baffling how popular Gavin is in this fandom. There’s like… no extra sides to him at all, he’s in three scenes (optionally five) in the whole game, solely to be an an asshole to Connor for no reason ever given. I mean look, I’m not going to go after Gavin fans but just… at no point in canon does he show any complexity in his character at all.

Meanwhile, my wife has actual canon reasons for speaking and acting how she does and despite that, in a pacifist route she’s able to put her feelings aside for the good of her people. North goes from bitter and angry at the world to motivated and full of hope that she can actually live free with her people. She voices her opinion of course, but if you decide to be peaceful she’s willing to accept it and try despite having so many justifiable reasons not to.

Like, fandom, what.

Also North and Connor are bffs, you can’t change my mind.
