#reserved courses

So I want to apply for 3000 and 4000 level kine courses, however they are all restricted. I am in the process of a program change from psychology into kine. My GPA is over 5.0 which I believe is the benchmark for the kine programs right? How can I get access to taking these courses now before they all get filled up while my program change request is being processed? I checked the change request status and it hasn't been updated since April 20th, and it's still pending

You won’t be able to enroll at the moment, I tried enrolling too by contacting the course department and they told me the courses are open to KINE majors only right now, so non-KINE majors can only enroll after July 14.

Does anyone know when non-majors can apply for psyc courses?

Only the course department can tell you that, it’s different for each department.

How am I suppose to get into courses when they are all reserved

You’ll have to contact the course department. Courses are reserved for a reason, it’s not to make it harder for you but to help students who actually belong in that major and need the course(s), they’re first priority not students from other majors.

if I'm trying to enrol in a course but it says reserved contact the department, can i email them or do i have to call them?

I would recommend calling for a quicker answer but most departments will reply to email as well.

How can i complete my major requirements when all the courses that i want to take (within my major) says the spaces in this course are reserved? any advice

If it’s your major - the space should be reserved for you. Contact your department and ask them why you can’t add these courses.

Hey, I just found out I failed a course which is sad, I know. If I retake it in the winter, will the mark I get for that semester if I get into the course exchange my failed mark? And since I can't add the course because it's reserved, do you know when I will be able to add it?

If you repeat the course in the Winter, it will replace the credits and grade in your GPA, but the first attempt will still show up on your transcript. I don’t know how important this will be in exchange unfortunately, but if it depends on GPA then you shouldn’t have anything to worry about if you repeat the course.

No we don’t because we’re not associated with the course department, you need to contact them and ask for permission to enroll.

Hi, about calling the department for the course reserved, do i need to have a good reason for them to give me a slot? Like, i want to take that course as a science requirement plus i only have 2 courses for the winter so pretty much i have more spare time so i really need to add another course (something like that). Would that be a good reason?? Thank you!

You don’t need to provide a reason, you just ask; “can I get permission to enroll into the course”, and then if they have any questions answer that, that’s about it. If they allow you then you can enroll; otherwise, you’ll have to wait for them to open up seats to other majors like everyone else.

if youre trying to add a course but it keeps saying its reserved, is there anything you can do besides going back to it everyday?

Try emailing the faculty to figure out why it’s reserved and see if you can get an exception, or when/if they might open the course to everyone.

Reserved courses are only open to majors until the course department decides to allow other majors to enroll (which won’t be till Jan if it’s still reserved even now). If you want to enroll in a reserved course then contact the course department, faculties do not deal with reserved courses. I’ve discussed course restriction in the reserved courses tag several times.
