Absolutely! This is a hard fandom for it...

* blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most) Varies. Sometimes Polly Perks, sometimes Sam Vimes.

* scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped) Pterry really doesn't write folks who fit this very well, but possibly Maladict.

* scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave) Lady Sybil Ramkin-Vimes.

* glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week) Gloria Thogsdaughter, the background trans femme dwarf from the first Susan book.

* poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave) ...Granny Weatherwax?

* horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason) Sergeant Colon, I guess?

* eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell) Lord Rust.

Sorry to nitpick, but I just saw your reblog about a crossbow from the 18th century tagged as "medieval weaponry". The 18th century isn't exactly medieval.

Yep, I'm aware. I want people who follow me for pre-modern weaponry to be able to find it, as an example of crossbows, and if I tag it differently it won't show up with the rest of the stuff. Some of the sword stuff I reblog includes post-1600 examples as well. It's a classification sacrifice I'm willing to make and trust people to read the caption.

One of the nonbinary options of the gender pronouns commonly in use. https://www.practicewithpronouns.com/ lets you check that out along with some of the others if you need practice.I haven’t met zir yet and ze is too little to let me know what pronouns ze’ll be using, so I’m using one of the nonbinary ones.  Also I don’t intend to give the internet at large more info than needed about the kid, for zir privacy. *thumbs up*  But I’m still gonna want to share my excite.

Hi, I really liked your post about bows in The Hobbit. I was just wondering what kind of bow you think hobbits would use. Maybe a composite recurve bow like Kíli? I don't think hobbits have the same strength as dwarves (and they are even smaller), but some of them are farmers and maybe hunters, so they would have to have some strength.

Probably just a smaller composite recurve, yeah.  It’d just be sized down to the archer according to their size, dropping its power and shot distance.  That’s what most people nowadays start with who use traditional bows.There are hobbit archers in canon - they sent a small party to the aid of the last King of Arnor and it was hobbit archers who helped drive off Sharkey’s men in the Scouring of the Shire at the end of LotR.  No details on their weaponry in the books tho.
